zeo-mare Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 (edited) Check out this new resin kit conversion for what i believe is the the Hasegawa VF-1S. it is from a group called Neograde who has done a awesome MG NU-Gundam conversion kit. this will be on sale soon . i like the way it looks alittle different then the original but i always like change and orginality even if it is not always canon http://www.neograde.com/gallery.htm?TBL=w_...m=12&page=1 Edited September 16, 2006 by zeo-mare Quote
Grayson72 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 hmm I'm not sure what to think about that, it looks like a quality casting job and it's neat and all but it deviates a bit too much from the original and the parts don't look like that fit all then well together. Quote
cool8or Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Yeah, it don't seems so much to the original design... I find it very "stylized" Quote
zeo-mare Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 (edited) hmm I'm not sure what to think about that, it looks like a quality casting job and it's neat and all but it deviates a bit too much from the original and the parts don't look like that fit all then well together. because it is not finished, that is why the parts are still being held by tape, you see this alot on many resin conversion kits or scratchbuilds. they still need time to finish the parts. the Nu gundam he did looks great it has the heavy weapons set with it. but this one is his next project there is still work to be done. but i cannot wait to see it finished, it will look cool along side the standard GPB so i think it is neat to have this stylized version along side the classic, it is not often we get any real good resin kit conversions like this, so i am eager about this release. chris Edited September 16, 2006 by zeo-mare Quote
promethuem5 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 That is one slick revision of the GBP... wish i ahd the cash or means to get it... looks awesome. Quote
Chas Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 (edited) Nevermind nothing to see here. . . These aren't the droids we're looking for . . . move along. Edited September 16, 2006 by Chas Quote
Valk009 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 If the displayed kit is already a recast kit from the masters, then I must also agree that it is a superb professional recast job. But the design is honestly a little too off the for my liking Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I'm agree with all of you with regards to the casting job being very well done. As far as the kit itself goes, it is very much personalized. Almost a reincarnation of the orginal GBP-1S. It's okay for a non-canon armour. Quote
Valkyrie Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Here's a page with earlier pics I found: http://www.neograde.com/gallery.htm?TBL=w_...m=11&page=1 Looks like a lot of the details were changed between the two sets of pics. And they definitely steered the project in a more non-canon direction. All in all, I think I like it. I'll buy one if it's reasonably priced. And yes, the pics of the finished kit are definitely resin casts, not the masters. They could have just as easily been glued in place. Quote
cobywan Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I think a little gap filling and it'll make a great GPB-1Sb. Or some variant. It at least looks Macrossy. Quote
kensei Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 (edited) Don't know about it really.....it's quite trippy, but I like my Yamato 1/48 version. I do admire how he slimmed down the design while retaining functionality and detail. Edited September 16, 2006 by kensei Quote
Ghadrack Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I am totally open to fan interperetation if I find it aesthetically pleasing. I really enjoy this take on the GPB armor. If it were reasonably priced and available, I'd buy a set or two. Thanks for the link and pictures! Quote
Grayson72 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 (edited) I think the part that bothers me the most are those big ol' hinges in the chest, looks like a toy...a bad one. Edited September 17, 2006 by Grayson72 Quote
cobywan Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 That's what putty is for. But they should fix that rather than make the model builder do it. Quote
MechTech Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 I'm gonna get hit for saying this, but it reminds me of the "Thunder Hammer." Yes, I'm sorry I brought that up. - MT Quote
007-vf1 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 (edited) I'm gonna get hit for saying this, but it reminds me of the "Thunder Hammer." Yes, I'm sorry I brought that up. - MT Oh you shouldn't get hit . Actually I was surprise to the similarities..I think the guy tried to incorporate a mix of the classic and the Thunder's GBP style. I would buy it with the idea of moding it close to the classic GBP since the arms shouldes and forelegs are the real pain when it comes to moding the old imai kits..This kit has more of the hard work cut up for you; and like CobyOne said a bit of moding and gap filling could erase some unwanted details... THOR Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 I'd buy it! If I had the money. I bought a used Jeep. Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket Neo-Armor looks very cool! Quote
big F Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 (edited) Looks ok. I think I`d have to get the putty out but looks ok non the less. Im glad that 007-Vf1 has mentioned that the Imaii one is a pig to convert to use on the Hasegawa as I was seriously thinking of chopping mine up to fit on a spare Hase kit. Dont think I will bother now. May be Hasegawa will do one now they have the zero in the bag. Thunder hammer wasnt someone here making a conversion kit for the 1/55 or something IIRC. Grayson72 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 (edited) Yeah the Imaii kit is a biatch to convert, took me forever to do mine. Edited September 19, 2006 by Grayson72 Quote
xstoys Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Yup, somebody was... Thunder hammer wasnt someone here making a conversion kit for the 1/55 or something IIRC. Quote
xstoys Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Not even crawling right now... That the puppy. Hows it going ?? Quote
emajnthis Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 looks like something from virtual on. Quote
jardann Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 That looks pretty sweet! I like the way it is different, but not off the wall goofy or ridiculous. I think it's a classy tweaked version of the original. Quote
Mephistopheles Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I like it better than the original. Quote
promethuem5 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 I like it alot, relaly slick lines and detail. Just wish it didn't have the same problem the 1/48 GBP has with the head sitting so low against the high chest. Quote
KiriK Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 is that 1/72 scale???? i think it looks great!!! the 1/48 GBP is nice, but its a bit bulky.... i mean... the 1/48 GBP has a HUGE rack!!! i like this slimmed down version a lot better..... Quote
