mister_e Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Buh? One second, you actually think the toynami masterpieces look better than yamato's 1/48s? Heheh, I'm pretty sure he's talking about the boxes. At least, I hope he's talking about the boxes
UN Spacy Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Is the YF-19 anyone elses Christmas gift for themselves?
kensei Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) No, cause it probably won't be here by then. Probably be a Chinese New Year's Gift instead. Edited November 8, 2006 by kensei
Phren Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Yeah, it's gonna take them a while to find enough forests to cut down to box them all up
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) Buh? One second, you actually think the toynami masterpieces look better than yamato's 1/48s? Be careful with what you say PDeMaio. You can be burned to death for saying something like that in these boards! Edit: C'mon, guys give the man a chance, he's still a Cannon Fodder. Nani?! Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I think this has got to be one of the most painful waits I've had to endure... all for a friggin toy. puahaha... I still think it'll be in my hands in time for christmas... I think yamato is banking on this toy as THE centerpiece of their christmas lineup... More than worry about it being delayed I'm worried if they push them out too fast with double left shoulders to boot. Oh well, I'm gettin me an ED-209 in the mean time so that'll alleviate the pain somewhat...
TheLoneWolf Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 And yes, except for hip bars, the yF-19 is pretty much all ABS, with a bit of POM thrown in. Graham Woohoo, let's hear it for POM!

Man i remember Ed goin off at Robo ages back in no. 1 & 2. What a foe/villan! CLASSIC! : Unfortunately it's too expensive.
Repiv_Onex Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Does anyone knows whether Yamato will by any chance, make a VF-19A Excalibre just like the previous 1/72 edition? If yes, I would probably wait for that. If no, I would then buy this.
David Hingtgen Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 Half of Yamato's VF-1's are non-canon repaints, do you really think they wouldn't make the best-known canon repaint? We'll probably also get low-vis, stealth, and Roy VF-19's...

Nani?! Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) it's late and I'm tired... got my vf-19's mixed up. Edited November 9, 2006 by Nani?!
zeo-mare Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) i am glad for some recolors i guess we will most likley see the game edition as well at some point? i am more interested in the normal color scheme, but would not mind seeing this one either. chris Edited November 9, 2006 by zeo-mare
Chewie Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Glad my tax return will have time to come about before I can get one of these. Lol By the way, what's the normal time it takes Yamato to bring up a second run? Only a couple of months, right? After all these years I can wait for a second run to weed out (if there are any) QC issues.
David Hingtgen Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 Nani--the VF-19A Excalibur is identical to the YF-19. It's the VF-19F and S Blazer valks, and VF-19Kai Fire valk that are so different.
kensei Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 That'll probably be the first variant on the 19 sculpt.
eugimon Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I'm not a fan of the baby blue color scheme for the 19a... I hope yamato decides to do some other interesting schemes... though, I dunno know if I could pick up repaints at the price they're asking.

kensei Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I hope the project will evolve into a VF-19F and S, so we can have Emerald Force valks. Maybe not likely, but if you can some good colours....
Chet Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Was the YF-19 adopted as the mainline variable fighter AS IS or are the Blazer and Fire Valkyries the production versions of the YF-19 that actually went into active service? Didn't really get to watch anything beyond Macross Plus, so I was wondering if non-canon repaints for the then experimental YF-19 would make sense.
recon Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Yups, would love to see the YF-19 in super nova schemes or even a low vis scheme. YF19A looks kinda of kiddish in my opinion Cheers
David Hingtgen Posted November 9, 2006 Author Posted November 9, 2006 The YF-19 was accepted as-is for the VF-19A, then heavily redesigned for the later VF-19F and VF-19S. Kind of like how the F-18A/B/C/D Hornet had about 90% of its structure changed to become the F-18E/F Super Hornet. Same basic name and designation, but actually only "looks similar" and doesn't share many parts.
Repiv_Onex Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I'm not a fan of the baby blue color scheme for the 19a... I hope yamato decides to do some other interesting schemes... It's not a bad idea to have a stealth 19.
aaajin Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 ouww...that looks..stealthy... I wont worry too much about the variations...we all know Yamato will milk the molds..YF-19 is a perfect candidate to bring up crazy ideas on valk variations...anyone wants camo low vis II YF-19?
Macross73 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 A Stealth 19 would look great . I expect that Yamato would want to cash in on this one as much as possible.
Axelay Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I know I'm in the minority, but I would absolutely HAVE to have a VF-19S if one was made. I don't think it's likely since Bandai still holds the Macross 7 license, if I'm not mistaken...
kensei Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 (edited) Nope. They don't. Its open season now. Edited November 9, 2006 by kensei
Batou Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Nope. They don't. Its open season now. When did it expire? I thought no one would comment on the agreement terms ... kind of like Microsoft and the OEM's. A VF-19S or any of the variants other than the "A" would require a complete new mold to do it as so much of the frame is completely different (like David Hingtgen said above) ... I don't know that M7 had a big enough fan base or visibility to justify that kind of investment for Yamato to take a risk on. Then again, they made the freakin' Konig Monster, so who knows? For the record, I'd be all over it if they made it. I just wouldn't recommend anyone held their breath over it, though.
kensei Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Don't know. Sometime this year I think. *points to Graham for more details*
Nani?! Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 It's not a bad idea to have a stealth 19. wow. That looks awesome. I'd buy that for sure.
eugimon Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 that stealth scheme is pretty sweet, that's a repaint I'd buy
Arthurius Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 (edited) HOLY smoken, that yf-19 STEALTH is AMAZING. I cant believe it. I would buy that even if it was a first run!!! WOWY Edited November 10, 2006 by Arthurius

You could add the Q-Rau as well, that's something they made that doesn't give very many returns. That Stealth doesn't do much for me, I'm wondering what it would look like though. Say, it's kinda been a long time without any news.... Edited November 10, 2006 by kensei
Mog Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 <Sarcasm mode on> Dammit, Repiv_Onex, don't tease us like that!! <sarcasm mode off> Personally, I'd like the shield to be a darker shade of grey. (To be more in line with the color-scheme of the rest of the plane.) But that's just me. Now, if they do stealth or black scheme on the YF-21....... .....I know, I know: I'm putting the cart before the horse.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 ... and there was a canon black'ish VF-21 in Macross 7 too guys. Glee!
