Skull-1 Posted October 8, 2003 Author Posted October 8, 2003 Smudge some of it around..........it makes the Valk look like a totally different beast. Quote
scand Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 I did this with my VE-1. It looks good but do it before you apply the decals. If not the decals will get dirty and really stand out! Quote
Vinny Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 I always preferred panel lining in greay (whether it's pencil or paint). Doing pure black gives it more of a cartoony look (like line art) but the grey is more like a light shadow in the panels. Nice job on it. Quote
robokochan Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Very nice! Thanks for the tip. Now do you seal it with a clear coat? Rob MN Quote
Batou Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Nice work. I find that pencil wears off, though, and you'll have to eventually redo it unless you seal it somehow. I've switched to using gray Gundam markers for mine, which gives nice results (though it's a little less forgiving if you make mistakes ). Quote
Gyges Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 I would be tempted to panel-line my valks, but I am both conservative and without hand-eye coordination. Hence, I am very, very afraid of ruining one. Nice job, by the by. Quote
tom64ss Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 Nice job Jason, looks good. I thought you hated that 1/48. J/K Quote
Skull-1 Posted October 8, 2003 Author Posted October 8, 2003 I hated it, but I fixed it up. Adding the panel lines makes me even happier. I did not seal it. I figured this would allow me to wipe the pencil off and restore it to mint condition. I keep it in a shadow box so it doesn't get dusty or anything, and if I wipe some of it off by accident it is easy to reapply. You just smear it around with your finger to make the streaks. Trial and error. If you don't like it, you erase it and do it again. Quote
