Kurt Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Hello everyone. I just finished this commissioned VF-1S to represent Focker's damaged valk during his last flight. I know the pilot is not correct, but that is all I had. I also added a bit of gore to the cockpit. Let me know what you think. Quote
Hurin Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 (edited) Darn near perfection. I always love your weathering. Only one very minor quibble. . . the blood should be much darker. Other than that, beautiful as always! H Edited August 15, 2006 by Hurin Quote

Skull-1 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 (edited) I tend to consider most weathering way overdone. These are modern fighters not junkyard cars... That being said..... This is a very impressive submission. It's almost sobering, to be honest. Is this supposed to be a TV version or DYRL? Obviously the damage makes me think of TV but the pilot doesn't match Roy's TV colors... Pretty nice. I wouldn't have had the courage to do that to a 1/48 as much as they cost! LOL Edited August 15, 2006 by Skull-1 Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Your work never fails to amaze me!!! It's time for a certain comission Quote
kensei Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I know! It's great Kurt. You always produce excellent work. Just wondering, those sticekrs on the fuselage, how did you do the damage on the stickers (if they are stickers) or did you paint them on and then take a drill bit to it? I thought the stickers would peel and make a mess everywhere! Quote

Just apply the decal and get it to conform the best you can. Thanks everyone! Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 (edited) I know I've said it about all of them but that looks great. Make sure to get them in the customs section of the site. I'm going to assume that is what roy's cockpit looked like and that the blood appeared on the seat regardless of if we never saw that in the tv series. Three holes in his back. He feels numb in the back assuming it was a scratch and doesn't notice the bleeding. Goes back to eat at claudia's and feints. Edited August 15, 2006 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker Quote

Dante74 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I'd have a hard time letting a custom like this go if I had your skills Kurt. I'd much rather make 'm for my own collection. Great work! Quote
Wicked Ace Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 It's almost sobering, to be honest. 425123[/snapback] There's just something wrong about "sobering" used to describe anything associated with Roy. Anyway, nice work, Kurt -- makes me want pineapple juice and Vodka. Quote
Jin_Kune_Do Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Kurt....i have always been a fan of your awsome work on the 1/48s. GutsAndCasca Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Kurt, you should take pictures of your personal collection and post'em so we can see what real perfection is like. And so we can be jealous. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 OMG that rocks! It hurts to see though... There's holes in that 1/48 T_T lol But that is freaking awesome battle damage and weathering! I like the blood too, although it does appear a bit too bright in the pic, but I trust it's darker in person. Quote
bigkid24 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Now I see why Hikaru wanted to fly that valk even after Roy died in it. That is one sweet ride! Nice job! Quote
rei Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Fantastic work. I want one! I'm assuming this is homeage to the series not DYRL. Awesome! Quote
Godzilla Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Kurt, you never cease to amaze me my friend. Keep the work coming. Quote

Black Valkyrie Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Nice, very good work but scary. Quote
Skullsixx Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Frakkin' gnarly!!! Although I always thought it would been cooler in DYRL if Roy took about 100 Zentraedi with him. Your work is a nice tribute. Quote
Lonewolf Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 That's a great exemple of customizing skills. Quote
