ultimateGAO Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Guys whats a good site to get info and history of the different valkyire color schemes? Minmay guard, Angel Birds, etc. Quote
azrael Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 There isn't much history behind those paint schemes. They started as unofficial paint schemes that were published way back. People liked them and now we have kits for them. Quote

Screech Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 isn't the angelbird paint sheme from tv serie ? (1st episode, air show) ? 420969 It is! The Angelbirds are the UN Spacy demonstration team and fly the VF-1 as seen on Episode 1 "Booby Trap" of the original Macross TV Series. Minmay Guard 1 and 2 paint schemes along with Low vis 1 & 2, and stealth are the ones that started as unofficial. some by fans and some by Yamato (I think) Hope this helps. P.S. do a search on minmayguard, there are a couple threads that discuss the origin of the scheme and the intended story behind it. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) The angelbirds are talked about in the liner notes. (using sailor outfits like japanese school girl uniforms?) So it is a canon scheme. Stealth might actually be canon if you've seen the ep in the tv series where there is a black colored valk (or just in shadows?) but I bet it is a dark blue. I wouldn;t be surprised though if there were black painted scheme. Ivanov had a black SV-51 in macross zero so maybe there are similar ones for un spacy? edit: ^ Black VF-1 from episode 5. 1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) Roy also had one of them when he puts Hikaru and minmay under the forearm of his VF-1S and attaches the disconnected cockpit under his plane in the episode where Hikaru's 2 seater is stuck to the giant's hand. You'll note hikaru and minmay completely vanish in some parts of the scene. Many secrets of the OT gained from the ASS1 mustn't have all been revealed. How I think it works is it is like the holographic tech you see in DYRL and macross plus, but instead of projecting an image of minmay or sharon apple, instead it shows an image of the surface of the valk so it looked like hikaru and minmay were not actually attached to roy's plane when they really were. Since roy had access to all kinds of secret experimental technology he would have been first to make use of this stuff. But it was not publicly revealed in case the anti-un got thier hands on it. jk Roy had to drink a lot to help forget some of the stuff he had seen, and it was his way of dealing with all the strange things he saw that nobody believed were true. Minmay guard, Angel Birds, etc. 420889 I believe the Minmay Guard scheme was from the Japanese hobby magazine Model Graphix-I don't know which issue.I have the Hasegawa Battroid kit with the markings & I think they were just having fun, imagining a joyous concert on the surviving moon base/city.On the markings sheet the unit is liisted as U.N.SPACY/SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND/SPECIAL WEAPON DEVELOPMENT WING/87th SPECIAL ESCORT SQUADRON"MINMAY GUARD' hope that helps Quote
