Sumdumgai Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 My wife drew me this Miria to use as my avatar, but here's the full sized picture. She drew her in more of a cutesy style, because her normal style isn't really that "chibi-fied". She draws doujinshi for Japanese conventions like comike and some others. Uh, no you guys probably wouldn't be interested in the doujinshi she does (yaoi mostly)... lol I don't know if any of you saw or got them, but my wife did some Macross character sketches at the Macross Panel at AX a couple years ago (not officially, but just while it was going on she was sketching), and gave away a few sketches. grapetang Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Cute! Very nice! Does she have a web portfolio? Quote
Sumdumgai Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 She's got a website with a gallery, but it was hacked recently and is down for now. She's going to re-open it soon though. If you can't make out the address in the pic, it's: http://www.sagakure.net Meanwhile there's always her deviant art gallery that doesn't have all her stuff (primarily Saint Seiya based). It's http://sagakure.deviantart.com Quote
EXO Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 that looks cool... need to get better proportions though. She looks like she's stuck between SD and sexy figure. It should be one or the other. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted July 30, 2006 Author Posted July 30, 2006 lol she was pretty critical of it herself. I wanted her to draw her sexy, she wanted to draw her chibi, so it melded. That's what happens when you mess with an artist's intuition. Quote
Razor x Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 wow she has talent! I would love to see her do a Macross spinoff Manga!! Quote

Though I'd love to see her renditions of the Macross cast as Chibi's that would be fun! Quote
Sumdumgai Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 Okay this isn't Macross, but my wife just drew me Anakin from ROTS in a chibi cutesy style. Heheh, I love his expression and the youngling! Quote
Mog Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Is it just me, or does the youngling sorta look like Luke Skywalker? Cool pic though! Quote
KiriK Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 haha... very nice indeed.... its got very nice coloring and everything!!! Quote
jenius Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Interesting... I never considered drawing Miria with clothes on! Eh, who the hell am I kidding, you can't tell if stick figures are wearing clothes or not. Quote

Sumdumgai Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 Yeah the youngling looks kind of like Luke, but it's the kid that says "Master Skywalker there are too many of them! What are we going to do?". My wife rocks, she doesn't mind me getting valks at all! And she's a Max and Miria fan. Quote

Sumdumgai Posted August 20, 2006 Author Posted August 20, 2006 A YF-19 my wife did based on one of the recent pics of the new YF-19 by Yamato. She was happy I was so excited about the new YF-19 that she did this pic. I'm still working on convincing her to do some other Macross characters. Quote
Ishimaru Posted August 20, 2006 Posted August 20, 2006 Wow those drawings are awesome. Tell your wife she gots talent. The YF-19 is just awesome with the ocean and sunlight, etc. Very nice. Quote

grapetang Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Nice YF-19! I like the details like the shadow in the water. Did she draw it from scratch? Quote
Mandy Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Great artwork posted here I love the Star Wars art a lot xD Hope to see more cool pics! Quote
Sumdumgai Posted August 23, 2006 Author Posted August 23, 2006 Nice YF-19! I like the details like the shadow in the water. Did she draw it from scratch? 427510[/snapback] She used the picture of the toy to place the base lines of it, because she's not used to drawing mecha. Then she colored it and did all the water and stuff. I'll post more in this thread when I've got more pics from her. I'll update the title or something with the date. Quote
Hoptimus Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I added her to Deviant Art watch list. I also asked her when she has time to do a Max to match that Milia! Quote

I really don't know what the difference is since I'm no artist, but it seems more... real. Maybe its the proportions and perspectives. Should do a Macross comic series... vinnie Quote
Sumdumgai Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Tachikoma! I love Tachikomas, and so does my wife. Quote
