Alex Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Im probably the first (and only one) this is gonna happen to but i started to notice cracks appearing in the diecast bar where the pin connects to the hip bar. Last night, one of the rings just cracked off completely. I dont know if this is the first of many to come or whether god is just punishing me so take a look at your 0s just to be sure. Quote
Alex Posted July 25, 2006 Author Posted July 25, 2006 Sorry. I dont have access to my 0S at the moment so ill get one up as soon as possible. Just thought id better report the news considering all the Garland fiascos recently. Quote
RYO Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Yeah, I've read about this from another board, something about the very fragile nature of the Yamato 1/60 VF-0S and the Garland...Can anyone else confirm this? Quote
UN Spacy Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 How many times have you transformed your 0S? Quote
Macross73 Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 thats not good news at all. These Valks should NOT have any major QC issues. I'll have to check mine as well. I really havent messed around with mine. Is this isolated? Just a fluke? What? Is Yamato aware of this new problem with the VF-0S Is the casting of the parts coming out too Thin or is it a diffent formula of plastic that is degrading over time? That would be scary imagine how your valk will be in 5 -10 years. You'll need little "crutches or walker" so it can stand on its own. Quote
GobotFool Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Never heard of this problem with the VF-0 before. I've heard of tail fin spikes, and loose joints. thats about it. Sorry to hear about your breakage. Quote
RYO Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 After some searching, found the thread from the other forum, regarding the VF-0S' problem. --> Robot Japan forum. Poor guy. Quote
ghostryder Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 (edited) I have posted earlier (and others have also) that the metal pin in the swingbar can just fall out pretty easily. I lost my pin, and had to fashion one from scratch. Now that I think about it, it could have been due to the hinge "rings" deforming or cracking, allowing the pin to fall out ... I will check this when I get home (sob). Edited July 25, 2006 by ghostryder Quote
do not disturb Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 the loose joints issue, hearing about pins falling out and plastic cracking, i'm so glad i waited for the 2nd production run. sorry about your valk dude. Quote

Unless they mill that skinny little focker out of billet steel, I'd expect the same issues if you play roughly. It ain't tough like a 1/48, folks. Quote
do not disturb Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 i'm not too worried, i handle my valks like i handle a virgin. Quote
