Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 The latest cartoon stems more from the old comic than the old cartoon ever did. If the movie follows the same premise, AWESOME!~ I loved the old cartoon but realized how crappy and goofy it really was once I read the 1st issues of the old comic. yea they were always goofy but they kicked ASS in the comics! WHOA>...not as much goofiness, and tons of asskilling. Quote
kensei Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 So are they digging up Vanilla Ice for this movie? 417974 Go ninja go ninja go! 418016 That video was funny. There is a very bad verison of that on YouTube. Quote
UN Spacy Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 NEW trailer is looking pretty awesome. http://www.mtv.com/#/movies/trailer_park/ Quote
VF-2SS-BloodPhoenix Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 The new trailer looks fantastic! I like the CGI and everything. Looking forward to it! I am a fan, from the 80s cartoon and I had a chance to check out the graphic novels and almost everything that was out for that franchise. As much as I liked the cartoon, one look at the comics and that was more interesting to me. All 4 turtles had red bandanas, but their belts were slightly different from each other. That looked more badass to me than the fruity colors used in the cartoon. I'm not condemning the live action movie for the colored bandanas as I really liked the first movie alot. Quote
Akilae Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 I'm actually more pumped up by the new 300 trailer on the same page :-p Quote
Veritas Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 (edited) NEW trailer is looking pretty awesome. http://www.mtv.com/#/movies/trailer_park/ That trailer right there was the goods plain and simple. JB0 Posted December 17, 2006 Posted December 17, 2006 (edited) Nice trailer. Seems like it'll be a good movie if the trailer's any indicator(not that trailers aren't explicitly intended to be misleading, but...) Not sure I like the evil space aliens, but it's not like the Turtles haven't fought those in every other media. The new trailer looks fantastic! I like the CGI and everything. Looking forward to it! Actually, the comics had gray bandannas. It was a black+white comic with colorized graphic novels. I dunno how much input the creators had into what colors went where, though. I've never seen the B/W comic, just the graphic novel which used the red masks. I'm sure that they used the colors for the mainstream version so that the general public can more easily identify which turtle was who by what color bandana they wore. As far as the space monsters are concerned, I like the idea. They look more powerful than the turtles. Either that, or I don't know how strong the turtles actually are. Quote
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 (edited) Nevermind... Looks good. My kid is going to like it. Edited December 18, 2006 by Metal_Massacre_79 Quote
Max Jenius Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I want a gritty, bloody TMNT like the old comic. This one looks like it's for the kids again. *sigh* Quote
Seven Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 So when can we expect the Adolescent Radioactive Black Belt Hamsters movie? Quote
gerwalk25 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Go Ninja, Go Ninja Go! AHHHHHH! My ears are BLEEDING! Quote
lord_breetai Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Me? The Turtles are like Highlander. Almost ost of the later shite, including the gay-porn fest, blasphemous cartoon, are simply shut out of our minds, like all the Highlander sequels and (ugh...) TV shows. I may be a fanboy, but I've always dreamed of doing a real Turtles story set within the firt 10 issues. I'm lame. Except that much like the fact that Duncan was much cooler then Conor and the TV series was much more memorable many people feel that way about the other incarnations of TMNT... don't get me wrong I love the black and white comics... and I like the Highlander movie but I found them after the fact so they just don't hold the same charm as the orginal. I want a gritty, bloody TMNT like the old comic. This one looks like it's for the kids again. *sigh* I'd enjoy a more serious story, slightly dark not neccesiarly bloody but more mature anyway... My main problems with this. A) The whole... Turtles have gone they're seperate ways and are drawn back together by major threat... is kinda cliche, the whole renunion thing sucks. B) The dialouge sucks, "It looked like your mom," "but that would also make it your mom" I mean they're Teens not 4th graders. C) Once in three hundred years the stars converg and an army of monsters is unleashed on the earth... so how come they didn't win last time when there were no turtles and no high tech weapons, and how come we don't know about it? This whole plot is like something out of a bad power rangers ep. Quote
JB0 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 B) The dialouge sucks, "It looked like your mom," "but that would also make it your mom" I mean they're Teens not 4th graders. "Yo momma" jokes aren't fit for teenagers? I'll be sure to tell them the next time I hear one. Hell, I know college kids that make yo momma jokes regularly. And the muttered "Idiot" was what made that scene. Quote

lord_breetai Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Me and my friends are damn near in our 30's and we STILL make Yo Momma jokes. Well... It's more the over all tone not just the joke itself. I'm going to be stearing way clear of this movie... Quote
Veritas Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 AHHHHHH! My ears are BLEEDING! The Horror! Seeing as it's a CG movie i don't think we'll have to fear anything like Vanilla Ice making a cameo apperance... but than again Macy Gray was in Spider-man of all places... WTH was that about. *shudder* Quote
kanedaestes Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Don't know if it has been mentioned but it looks as though they are taking a Superman Returns approach to it. Apparently this movie takes place after the secret of the ooze, and completely ignores TMNT 3 (thank god). I still have my doubt cause i still love the ole jim henson rubber suit turtles. I never saw anything wrong with them, and in this day and age of overused CGI that look way to slick to be real (see spiderman web slinging for reference) i think those suits would still be perfect for a new movie. And it makes everything more real and believable. At least as believable as four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can be in a real life. Quote
Max Jenius Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Except that much like the fact that Duncan was much cooler then Conor and the TV series was much more memorable many people feel that way about the other incarnations of TMNT... don't get me wrong I love the black and white comics... and I like the Highlander movie but I found them after the fact so they just don't hold the same charm as the orginal. Duncan was cool if you were one of the wannabe kendo dorks growing up with that. Connor is way grittier, Duncan is a fruit booty. I wanna refer to Duncan as Proto-Emo. I'd enjoy a more serious story, slightly dark not neccesiarly bloody but more mature anyway... My main problems with this. They're ninjas with bladed weapons. . . so something has to bleed. None of this robot bullshit. A) The whole... Turtles have gone they're seperate ways and are drawn back together by major threat... is kinda cliche, the whole renunion thing sucks. It will be interesting to see how a mutant turtle goes it's seperate way lol. B) The dialouge sucks, "It looked like your mom," "but that would also make it your mom" I mean they're Teens not 4th graders. So . . . another franchise that lags behind the maturity of the original fans. C) Once in three hundred years the stars converg and an army of monsters is unleashed on the earth... so how come they didn't win last time when there were no turtles and no high tech weapons, and how come we don't know about it? This whole plot is like something out of a bad power rangers ep. Yeah, basically kids will watch almost anything. They're counting on the people that grew up with it, have kids and don't know any better... Quote
KingNor Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 300 years is a damn long time for todays A.D.D. ridden rug-rats. It's not like any of kids in schools now-a-days have any idea what was going on 300 years ago, to them its pre-history. For all they know maybe we DO fight off monsters every 300 years. afterall there used to be dinosaurs right? and those are like.. 800 years old or something, what ever watch me to a kickflip on tony hawk 39 Quote
