Hikaru's VF-1S Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 hiya, well i wanna start collection macross valkyries cuz i really liked macross and its my favorite anime of all time. i wanna start out with either roy's or hikaru's vf-1s. im wondering how do i know which version they are cuz i been hearing things that there are different versions with errors that were fixed and such. also anyone know a cheap place to get one? also are the stealth valkyires cool? i wanted to get one of thoses too, and i saw a special pack that came with the strike armor parts... i think it was like $210 for it or something. anyways. hope people can help a n00b like me =) Quote

Regarding the QC issues; If you're getting the Valks from E-bay you might want too avoid the first versions of the Roy and Hikaru Valks. If you're getting them from an online shop like HJL or BBTS or any of the vendors here, you're in the clear because they only sell the latest reissues. Quote

Fly4victory Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 TMP Anime and HLJ are great. Valkyrie-Exchange is no longer open as a store but Kevin still has some stock: CF VF-1A and I think Roy VF-1S. I got my first 1/48 from Kevin. I own a first edition Roy no problems, first edition Hikaru VF-1S weak ankles. To be safe avoid Ebay. Have had both good and bad experiences. There is also a sales section here at MW. It is sad that some individuals must sell their collection but it stays part of the MW family. That is where you can find Valkyrie-Exchange. I recommend the VF-1J Stealth with Fast Packs. You get a Valk and packs in one really big box. The packs are normally sold separately and the stealth packs are a cool two tone gray. Only available with the Stealth. The combination set may disappear in the future the way the Hikaru VF-1J with TV Fast Packs has and if you want it then you are stuck with Ebay or doing without. Tam will allow for local pick-up... so if you're around here, give him a call and save yourself 6 bucks. Also, is USPS shipping is great. The very first thing I ever bought of Yamato, was for Xmas I got some $$$$ so I ordered a Hikaru VF1S, a GBP armor, and a strike armor. The GBP showed up, and then the strike armor. But the damned valk wouldn't come for some reason, so I got jittery and impatient. Thus, my 1st valk to ever really HAVE was a CF I got from Tisinc on ebay. Then the VF1S still didn't come so I ordered a Hikaru 1J. So I guess my 1st valk ended up being my 3rd valk. My advice: If you can't find the stealth w/fast pack.... get Hikaru (1S.) I hope yours comes in less than three months. Oh, if you can't find the stealth, check ebay, man. I had to get mine there. I've only ever had one problem with a 1/48 toy on ebay and that was having to wait 3 months to get my Hikaru 1S. I can tell you which ebay stores are good. AVOID TOYS'N'JOYS AT ALL COSTS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. You'll curse the day you were born and curse the day you heard of their demon-spawn business if you *attempt* to buy something from them. The box is a little damaged, but he's discounted the price because of it. I've bought from him before and I would definitely recommend his fine service to others. kyatsu Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 just get the 1/48 vf-1 hikaru. it's obvious you want it. kyatsu but if you have the opportunity to get a super stealth or vf-1 low viz (original low viz) i will highly recommend you to get them too (and first). i know the feeling buddy. i just started buying 1/48 this year starting with roy, vf-1j hikaru with armor, vf-1 max, vf-1s hikaru, and then super stealth. so, all in all i have 5 1/48 and i think i am happy with what i have for now (i dont think i need to buy anymore), but i still have to get one extra fastpack. kyatsu Quote

I've ordered from him several times and never had a problem. As for the first Yamato 1/48 valkyrie, go with either the Hakaru VF-1S or super stealth!! Those are the 2 that I own, both of them are sweet! Quote
