sbarrett4 Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Probably a little different than most. http://www.geocities.com/shanb4/temporary.html I am toying with the idea of using strike armor for the boosters and arms and Super-O armor for the legs painted in purple with black for a little change of pace. Any suggestions are welcomed. Shan Quote

sbarrett4 Posted October 6, 2003 Author Posted October 6, 2003 Seems to be working now. If it continues to be a problem, I'll try to post the pics here Quote
TheFrenchOne Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 A decepticon Vf-1D ? Strange and the silver paint is quite surprizing on a valk. Really odd piece... What was in your mind when you decided to make this ? It makes me think of a shiny Harley Davidson custom. But the qualkity of the paint seems really good. Congrats (even if the 1D looks really strange ). I saw recently a remake using quite the same paint scheme. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3&category=4696 did this inspired you ? Quote

Eternal_D Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 interesting custom...i kinda like the flashy purple and silver. Quote
yellowlightman Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 Cool custom, definately looks like a Transformer. Good job on going against the majority in terms of customs. If you want hosting for your custom pics that's way better then Geocities, check out my sig for info. Quote
mslz22 Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 Awesome, i always wanted to make myself a decepticon jetfire, but never thought of a 1d head, very cool..... Quote

I have that bootleg or whatever it might be and it partially inspired me. My original thought way back when was to go black base with purple, but it would be difficult to apply stickers over that so I switched to silver as the base color. I intended this more as a Transformer than Macross valk and thus it is more "toy-like" in terms of color scheme - something that Hasbro might have actually made. I added the 1D head yesterday in place of the 1S/Jetfire head (which was all black with a red eyeport) and while I am not completely sold on the 1D head myself, it does make it look more unique than just a straight Jetfire repaint. rsvictor1976 Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 I wanna see what everyone else is able to see. Stupid geocities. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted October 7, 2003 Posted October 7, 2003 sbarrett4, I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to post your pics here since geocities is stingy with bandwidth. That said, you've got guts using rare elint armor and a VF-1D head on a decepticon custom. Bravo! Quote

sbarrett4 Posted October 7, 2003 Author Posted October 7, 2003 does the bootleg on the ebay auction have diecast metal on it? or is it all plastic like the all plastic bootlegs? the only difference I found was that the inner half of the lower legs are plastic instaed of diecast. Quote
Anasazi37 Posted October 8, 2003 Posted October 8, 2003 (edited) Nice job! Very original, Shan. Glad to see that those custom stickers I made worked out so well. B) Edited October 8, 2003 by Anasazi37 Quote

All he needs now is a feathered hat and a fur coat. Edited October 8, 2003 by rsvictor1976 Quote
