Hikuro Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 No kiddin fashion seemed pretty bad. But man Mari in her younger years....god I miss the freakin 80's. Quote

reddsun1 Posted July 1, 2006 Posted July 1, 2006 What. The. F---?! "My name is Mariah and I hate pickles....pickles are destroying my life!" What kind of fu--ed up bulls--t made-up-disability-pension-scam crap is that supposed to be?! But I nearly rolled out of my chair laughing when I heard this part: "...We wanted to see firsthand the extent of Mariah's pickle phobia. So we sent her to the Patterson Pickle Factory, where she would come face to face with thousands upon thousands....of pickles!" Man, that's just some sick, sadistic s--t. I kept expecting to hear some maniacal MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA! in the background. Quote
MicronianDevil Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 Awesome video! The real life Minmay! Makes me want to watch DYRL! I forgot what thread it was but someone posted a Youtube video of Mari singing "Do you remember love?" live. Ive been searching like crazy but cant find it here or on Youtube. If anyone can post it I'd apprecite it. Quote
Phyrox Posted July 2, 2006 Posted July 2, 2006 I will never understand how anyone can really like the Macross music. Such bad 80s synth-pop...and I have been known to dig 80s music from time to time... I get the nostalgia for the rest of the show, even with its occasionally poorly animated stretches, but the music? I just don't get it. It sucks. Bad. Of course the Robotech songs are worse, but that does not excuse the trash that a lot of macross fans seem to fawn over. M+ had good music, DYRL had some good BGM...and THAT IS IT. I know that musical taste is very subjective, but could someone try to put into words what is good in any way about this Mari Iijima's songs? Quote
vlenhoff Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I'm going to be honest. The first time I watch DYRL I hated the "new" music, since all I ever watch was Rowboatek. The time in which it was created only increases my love for the series. Watching Mari's video increases my heart beat and makes my skin feel really wierd. I have developed an incredible love for her misic. Is it because it is Macross... I don't really know. I love you Mari Quote
vlenhoff Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I love M+ music too. I liste to it all the time God, I'm a fiend Quote

Mr March Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Thats gotta be fake. Please tell me its fake. If not, wow. Its fake. its gotta be fake. fake? 414635 It's a comedy performance starring Crista Flanagan of MadTv fame. "Hope Is Emo" is a podcast made by Beatbox Giant Productions, the same people who created "Ask A Ninja." The funny thing is the largely improvised nature of the show makes it feel more real and unlike the over-the-top antics in Ask A Ninja, this leads to a sense of reality for Hope. Explains why you may have been uncertain at first Quote

valk1j Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 Interesting fake trailer of a macross movie . Quote
reddsun1 Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 LOL, it could work. But for the love of Christ, all his diciples and his cousin Pete---just don't let Dean Devlin or Roland Emmerich produce/write/cater meals/answer the office phone/have anything whatsoever to do with it!!! Quote
MjrMisaHayase Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 (edited) Interesting fake trailer of a macross movie . 425690 I can't imagine James Cameron (Happy Birthday, you old sourpuss) at the helm of a live-action Macross film. We'll just have to wait and see if Battle Angel Alita's a Titanic-sized hit. But, the film won't come out for a while. Edited August 17, 2006 by MjrMisaHayase Quote
Renato Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Here's something interesting. Take a look at the version of the Macross opening they've used here. The last scene of the opening animation is different. Instead of the shot of the VF-1J transforming, there is one of the Daedalus attack. And the production cooperation credit is given NOT to Tatsunoko and Animefriend, but the Yoyogi Animation Gakuin instead (who worked on Macross 7). I've never seen this. Where did it come from? Was it used on a rerun, or only on some episodes animated by Yoyogi (didn't know there were any more animation studios contracted for Mac; just Tatsunoko, Animefriend and Star Pro, the Korean one which did all the crap episodes like Millia's wedding).
