Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Hello all. I notice a bunch of us for the most part do digital artwork. Some of us paint as well by hand. So who paints? I find it interesting that the way I "paint" in photoshop is the way I paint by hand with acrylics/oils. I find that the single thing I love most about digital(painter/photoshop) is that there is NO DRYING TIME! Hell even with fast dryers like acrylic I am feeling the same way....I dunno then again I am naturally an impatient illustrator. If anything I find painting to be relaxing and it can be forgiving since you can always paint over. I find that tensing up is when I screw up, when I take a breath and relax, I do much better. Especially with paints you can't really do fast such as watercolor or guache. I'm giving paints with a macross theme another go. Maybe I will post the WIP's who knows. I figure, its been 2 years since I have took a stab at macross with acrylics, so I mineswell try! But man not painting for a while has gotten me rusty! So any of you enjoy traditional painting media in regards to doing macross or anime fanart? Discuss! Quote
akt_m Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 The things i don't like about digital painting are that you need a good computer to work with high resolution and that there are some kind of things that i find dificult to create. Now i am mixing hand painting with digital painting. Quote
