Die, Alien Scum!
Well, here it is. It came out pretty well considering it's a rattle-can job. I still need to add a few more markings and do some panel-lining on the blue, but I'm waiting for the paint to set up a bit longer. That's the same reason why I've only got battroid pics - if I scratch up the paint during transformation right now, I'll lose my mind. I wanted to wait until it was 100% complete before posting, but I just couldn't because I really dig this paint scheme. I used Krylon Fusion Patriotic Blue and then laid down a few coats of matte finish clear coat to cut down on the glossiness. I've gotta say, I really like the Fusion, but they need to make more colors. Oh, and I've got to give a major shout-out to haterist for the Brasso and steel wool trick to remove the original paint. It works like a charm. Thanks, hater! You saved me the hassle of having to do a total repaint! Anyway, here's a few pics. Enjoy.

The more I see other people post their customs the more I'm thinking I should get a different hobby. (especially seeing Devin and Kurt's valks - talk about taking away all hope) Great work, great work!!!! I wish I had a TV Max in my collection. I gotta' shout out to Haterist as well ---- brasso saves the day.
big F
Damm You made me want to do a T.V max. Shame on you. Great work! Rattlecan jobs can sometimes come out really well.
Die, Alien Scum!
First off, thanks to everyone for the kind words. It's been quite some time since I've done any sort of modeling or customization, so it's really encouraging to receive your praise. Thanks again. On that note, my TV Kakizaki is now done, but I figured it was better to simply post in this thread again rather than start a new one. This is another rattle-can custom using Krylon Fusion Satin Khaki. The best part about this color is that I didn't need to spray a matte clear coat on it since it's already pretty dull. Again, I've only got a few battroid pics for now since I don't want to transform it until the paint sets up for a few more days. If anyone hasn't tried Fusion, I'd definitely recommend it - especially for simple jobs like this. Oh, and just in case anyone gets the impression that I'm some sort of valk-customizing-machine since I whipped out these two so quickly - I can assure you that I'm not. I had disassembled, stripped, and prepped both of these at the same time, so everything was already taped off and ready for paint when I started. Not to mention the fact that there's really not that much work involved in making these two. But enough talk; onto the pics. Hope you like it. nightmareB4macross
Wow, those are exquisite. Are the valks supposed to have bands on the legs??? Arms??? Even if they don't they still look awesome.
Die, Alien Scum!
Thanks, nightmare. In the anime there are no black bands on the arms and legs, but I took a little artistic license and added them. I think it brings a little something extra to their look since they're a bit bland without them.
GutsAndCasca
Wow! They both look really great. And also, I think it's always cool to add your own touch to your custom valks. Black bands = cool. Great work!!!!!
big F
Great work again !! Its a shame that you cant get Krylon in the U.K. Everyone who uses it raves about how good it is.
Veritas
Those look like official releases! Nice and clean paint job. Great work! Wish i had the space and skill for that matter, to start making repaints like that heh.
do not disturb
awesome work and i like the added details, the TV valks are definitely on the bland side. keep'em coming!
GutsAndCasca
Your TV valks are the sh-t! I wish I had some!
Die, Alien Scum!
Okay, I let the paint set up for several days and decided it was finally time to transform these two and take some pics. Sorry, some of them came out a little blurry since I let my camera's batteries get too low before replacing them, but they're good enough for now. I did notice a very small amount of wear on some the little nubs and pegs when I transformed them back into Battroid mode, but it's barely noticeable and definitely not worth the effort to retouch them. Anyway, here's the pics. Enjoy.

kensei
I like the Max, but I got to say I'm particularly impressed with the Kakizaki, whose shade of brown is perfect.
Skull-1
I love them both. If only Yamato would buy a clue. Why these two schemes don't exist as production models is beyond comprehension. Great work. Edited December 15, 2006 by Skull-
