Keith Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hmm, I think HG should hold a contest to see who can be more Luke-ey. Tony Oliver, or Mark Hammil... Quote
Prime Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 In fact, if HG didn't tell me that it was Mark Hammill, I wouldn't have known, period.Which probably says something about his solid voice acting ability. Quote
The Shade Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Which probably says something about his solid voice acting ability. When I first watched the English Dub of Laputa: Castle in the Sky, I only recognized him near the end when his character got angry and started to sound a bit like the Joker. Quote

You would'nt happen to know if there are copies of the original english dub of Laputa around? Thats the one i grew up with and i think the voices are waaay better. Quote

Effect Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Mark Hammill is one of those actors that is a FAR better voice actor then live action actor. Not many I feel can do both really well. Some are just better suited to one or the other. It's still acting in the end. Still I think Mark just made a lot of bad choices in the films he did post-Star Wars. If he had to do it over again I'm sure he'd turn a number of things he did down or not gone for them. Still then we might not have him as the voice of the Joker (or the other characters he's voiced) and no matter what I read or watch it's his voice that I hear when I think of the Joker. Quote
bob joe mac Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 lol mark hamill was in other movies aside from star wars... I can only remember one the guyver... Quote
vermillion01 Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 I thought his role in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back was pure genius.... but for some good post SW Hamill, look out for an old british sci-fi called SLIPSTREAM.. its ace.. (not one for the big FX junkies... aircraft nuts will appreciate it tho) Quote
Ginrai Posted September 29, 2007 Posted September 29, 2007 Slipstream? The movie with Bill Paxton? That was completely wretched. It wasn't even funny bad, it was just excrutiatingly boring bad. That was one of the few bad movies me and my friends could not even finish. Quote
areaseven Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Well, there's always Corvette Summer. Quote
big F Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 (edited) It was the only film ever IIRC to have the ill faited Optica scout plane in that was futuristic before its time. They had an individual sound to them you always knew when one was up much like the Spitfire IMO Im just happy our local Airport had one Edited September 30, 2007 by big F Quote
vermillion01 Posted September 30, 2007 Posted September 30, 2007 Correctamundo! I thought it was a half decent original sci fi movie. Lovely aerial shots of the yorkshire dales.. Quote
big F Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 Correctamundo! I thought it was a half decent original sci fi movie. Lovely aerial shots of the yorkshire dales.. Yeah nice cheap budget film that put a point across with out the need for loads of computer based effects. Quote
Ginrai Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Lovely aerial shots does not excuse a limp, slow film with almost zero plot and awful jokes in place of any kind of useful or interesting dialogue. It was just a crappy ripoff of Mad Max with airplanes and some really terrible writing and acting. Quote
