ARKARY Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 It's apparently "End of the Circle" redux. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 ok let's see some pics of the haydonites Thank you Capt. JLS of ROBOBLOG 3. The Haydonite is in the center of the SENTINELS picture wearing the cloak. They are called "Children of Shadow". Also, Lisa is wearing a Haydonite diplomatic robe. [attachmentid=40197] Quote
promethuem5 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Can we get some good pics of the new mecha yet?? Or are they not easily accessible yet? Quote
Knight26 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 so the sentinels basically turn on the REF then, is that the general idea? Quote
HoveringCheesecake Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 so the sentinels basically turn on the REF then, is that the general idea? No, the Shadows (the Haydonites) turn on the REF. The Haydonites were members of the Sentinels. Quote

HoveringCheesecake Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I like how they drug his name through the mud and then ended up using his work as the basis for their sequel. Quote
1st Border Red Devil Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I like how they drug his name through the mud and then ended up using his work as the basis for their sequel. The Shadow Chronicles is just as bad as End of the Circle. But again, thats Tommy for you. Quote
Keith Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Is it just me, or does Greg Sneogoff sound like Adam West now? Quote
baronv Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 So has anyone found SC in any of their local stores (Best Buy, Target, etc.) today? Quote

1st Border Red Devil Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 What the heck is a Haydonite? Graham Ask and ye shall recieve...more than you imagined... Quote
Doctor Reggae Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Cool, I suppose...any pix of the SDF-3? Quote
hutch Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Do you have any pics of the mecha? The screen I saw it on had an illumination problem (it was pretty dark) but the Haydonite mecha looked pretty bad on that. Quote
Night Stalker Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) See my replies on it here. http://www.robotech.com/community/forum/re...genumber=1#post I am shocked I haven't gotten blasted by the Robotech-ies yet. They are like humanoids willing to accept anything HG throws at them with a Robotech title on it just to have something. This movie was a lame attempt to grab a little more cash and milk the Robotech TEET for a little more without having to throw any money at it. If the idiots at HG would wake up and realize if they would give the fans even a small fraction of what they wanted, it would be successful. After 20 years this was a lame attempt at putting something else out there to carry the Robotech name forward and build from. They had little to no promotion, and no money to push it and promote it into any real theatres. It is Robotech: The Movie all over again. They should be ashamed of themselves to have this as the only thing they have accomplished at HG to carry the RT name forward after this long. A true point that the RT fans will gobble up anything no matter how crappy. A side note, I feel ashamed of myself for having payed money for it. I have almost EVERYTHING on DVD or tape related to RT, Macross, and Mospeada so I jumped when this came out. I am an idiot. lol I guess we are all silly stupid completists in one way or another. I must say, if you like Robotech, and will watch everything that mentions anyone in it no matter how many holes the stryline has, this movie is a must see and own. Heck, if you are a fan at all, you should at least watch it once. Edited February 7, 2007 by Night Stalker Quote
jenius Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 LOL, I haven't seen it yet but Night Stalker, your criticisms seem a bit shallow. You don't like the character designs or outfits, that's fine. You didn't like how little Rick was there but they're obviously trying to move on from the original cast and use the original cast as bait. Being pissed because HG didn't have enough money to make some blockbuster amazing film is like making fun of poor kids for not having designer jeans. You can do, but what are you accomplishing? No Sir, if you want to write a real scathing review, and it sounds like you do, you gotta attack the bread and not the butter. The fact we don't see a Cyclone transform seems ticky tacky for those of us who haven't seen it (it might become readily apparent that they did everything to avoid it and seem more jarring for those who have actually viewed it). No... go after the WRITING to destroy a film. Make fun of nonsensical elements. Tell me about the part where the main character escaped on a flying rock. Tell me about how a pilot who was lost in space was discovered because of a new technology that found sound energy in the cosmos. That's the kind of stupidity you have to nail. Bad outfits are par for the SciFi course. Quote

Bad outfits are par for the SciFi course. I'd have to disagree; I think anime is supposed to be eye-candy. And Robotech should definitely be robot porn. As for being shallow, I won't watch a show if I don't like the character designs. So, here's defending shallowness when it comes to anime. Quote
Night Stalker Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Danth - EXACTLY! Jenius - you certainly don't live up to your name. I pretty much restated almost the same things others in this thread did but you chose to attack my post. I wonder why that is? Are you still crying over the fact that I didn't see your point of view in that other thread where the guy wanted outragious shipping for a model. And was gouging people? Must be since I didn't see you attack anyone else's point of view here that said the same things I did. It is here in black and white. " You can do, but what are you accomplishing?" And what does my review have to do with what I can or cannot do? I am not the one putting out a week movie after 20 years with little to no substance. But by your reviews you seem to not think it is much better. Can I attack you too and say what have you done to bash the movie? I reviewd a movie I paid money for same as others on this thread. You know, the other 38 pages of posts here not just mine. "Being pissed because HG didn't have enough money to make some blockbuster amazing film is like making fun of poor kids for not having designer jeans." No it isn't, that isn't even close. But it is darn refreshing to see that people can speak thier mind on this board without being bashed for it.. GENIUS! Now go find someone else's post to follow around and critisize. Night Stalker Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 And to further add to this, after 20 yrs this is the best they could do knowing the following they have and what the fans want. I say if they cannot do it right or are too scared to take the risk, move the hell out of the way and let others do it for them. Liscense that out to a company that can really do something with it. Toys included! Quote

Toys included! Me thinks you are VASTLY over-estimating Robotech's CULT following. Yes, it's larger than some cult followings, but it ain't huge. I assure you, it's financiers who are afraid of spending which makes HG unable to spend. The franchise was dead for a decade for a number of reasons (such as Matchbox, their original financier pulling out, the YEN/Dollar conversion). I remember when the RT game came out, it was reviewed by G4 and the intro was "Do you care about 20 year old cartoons? Neither do we!" Edited February 7, 2007 by jenius Quote
Night Stalker Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 "I'm just playin', RT chat on an MW board is fun" Yeah ok. Then go bash the thread originator. Quote
jenius Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Yeah ok. Then go bash the thread originator. Who's bashing? It's okay for you to criticize a movie but you don't like having your criticism criticized? It wasn't even harsh, I was telling you to go for the jugular. Quote
Night Stalker Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Why go for the jugular, I was pretty much re-affirming a point others made that I ALSO didn't like. Aside from the other obvious things. Hey man, you don't like my post, don't read them. The post wasn't directed to you or about you. This thread was about RT:SC. My post was in line with that. You don't like what I got to say about the movie, take it for my own opinion and buy it or don't buy it. Either way........... I got stuff to do. Edited February 7, 2007 by Night Stalker Quote
jenius Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) Jenius - you certainly don't live up to your name. Well, I didn't spell it genius so you might say it's actually clever word play... or you might say it's the last name of a prominent Macross family. Are you still crying over the fact that I didn't see your point of view in that other thread where the guy wanted outragious shipping for a model. Honestly, I have no recollection of what you're talking about. I pretty much restated almost the same things others in this thread did but you chose to attack my post. I wonder why that is? Ah, could that be because you started by insulting every member of Robotech.com... of which I am also a member? LOL, and you know what, even though you did that, I didn't attack your review, I merely suggested ways in which you could P-off the people at RT.com more by bringing more valid arguments. And what does my review have to do with what I can or cannot do? I was pretty clearly talking about what HG was capable of... You picked on them for not having more money, I pointed out that it may not have been readily available... If you want to take that as a slight on yourself, be my guest. No it isn't, that isn't even close. But it is darn refreshing to see that people can speak thier mind on this board without being bashed for it.. While I have found all of your subsequent posts openly hostile, I assure you my telling you that your review would have likely brought more outrage from those "humanoid-like Robotechies" if you had actually brought more to the table was not a slight on you, just advice on how to invoke more of a response. You expressed disbelief that "Robotechies" weren't hounding you for what you said, I instructed you on how to make it more a topic of conversation. Edited February 7, 2007 by jenius Quote

Night Stalker Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 (edited) "Night Stalker, shame on you!!!" Sure, jump on in and flame it up man. Because I no longer feel like arguing on a message board? Or because I made a mistake and a generalisation of the people at RT.com that came out all wrong. Sure it sounded bad, sorry. It came out all wrong. My mistake. I take no responsibility for insanity, brain damage or frothing at the mouth at the horridness of said designs. Quote
briscojr84 Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I was sorely disappointed with the Haydonite Designs, reminds me too much of certain other shows. Hey 1st BRD, were you able to snag a side view of the Ark Angel. Quote
Keith Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Why is it that every alien/non-human female in this film has pink hair? Where are the other freakin' colors! Quote
