Gabe Q Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Hello, Does anyone know exactly how this kit is going to be different from the already released VF-1S Strike Battroid Valkyrie? There aren't any pics on the HLJ website. Just Hasegawa re-packaging a kit? Here's the link: HSG65768 Hasegawa 1/72 VF-1S Strike Battroid Valkrie Minmay Guard 3,800 Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Ah yes, more of the same from Hasegawa. Same kit, new decals, and higher price (Y3800 vs Y2800). It may be molded in a different color plastic too, but that never matters. Quote
Mechleader Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Yes I saw this. There is a small ugly pic here... http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/gundam/index_e.a...Bno=&Typ1_c=109 I was hoping it would be the Strike with the wings out and weapons set on them but no go. I think it's a high price for decals but hey.... Maybe they could ad a stand. Now that would be nice. It's great to be back!!! Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Here is a better picture, I think: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...002-page-10.jpg Thanks, LTSO Quote
Thai Boxer 9901 Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Ohhhh so its just a panzy-ized Strike VF-1S. Is this in DYRL or something? Quote
Pat Payne Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 That's Hasegawa's way of wheedling every spare buck out of a kit. They do it a lot with their WW2 releases. They take a mold they've been using forever and box the same basic kit (sometimes with extra parts) with new decals. You would not believe how many ME-109, A6M2, and P-51 Mustang kits they've released with this technique. They even released a J7M Raiden fighter with Aa Megamisama (Oh! My Goddess) decals once. And nope, it didn't apear in DYRL, AFAIK. It's just a cool decal design someone at Hasegawa dreamed up. Quote
Hybridchild Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I must admit that from a business standpoint thats a really smart thing to do but ass a fan i wish theyd just release the basic kit with all the differant decals Hybridchild Quote
Grayson72 Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Yeah it's stinks for suckers like me who have to have every Macross kit Hasegawa makes. This one really came out of the blue though. The last one I bought was that stupid Virgin Road VF-1D man that was a stretch but at least it was actually in the series. I heard there gonna release the VF-22S in Millia colors too. Quote
Hybridchild Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I heard there gonna release the VF-22S in Millia colors too. I already have one of them, i just two of the Max ones and painted the second one red Hybridchild Quote
godfather Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I just want the decals. I believe these decals are available on one of the Hasegawa decal sets that came out a while back. Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 No, this is a new Minmay Guard design. It first appeared in the august issue of model graphix. Quote
Mechleader Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Yes look at the pic I posted. It's different from the Series 3 they released. Quote
Commander McBride Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I'm curious, what exactly is the story behind the minmay guard? Quote
MacrossX Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Just out of curiosity, would anyone get a tatoo of Minmay? Quote
Hybridchild Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Her management probably came up with the idea as a promotional tool like when Pepsi painted up a Concorde in their colours when they changed to blue Hybridchild Quote
Commander McBride Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 So no one really knows? My thought was that they were security at her concerts between the war and FB2012. The whole Minmay Guard name makes that seam likely. Quote
Commander McBride Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I'm curious, what exactly is the story behind the minmay guard? UN SPACY 87th Escort Squadron to Minmay on her "Viverator Tour" to Paris in 2013 and the opening act is DJ Mauro Picotto. It's all there in Model Graphix 10/02, if you're like me and can read pictures. So, wait, how can minmay tour in Paris in 2013 if she left in 2012? Quote
Batou Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 UN SPACY 87th Escort Squadron to Minmay on her "Viverator Tour" "Viverator", huh? Quote
Alpha Omega Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 I like that paint scheme. So I pre-ordered one along with the new EX- Albion space cruiser (Gundam 0083). Quote
Commander McBride Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 I'm not too sure about the scheme myself. Something about it reminds me of those "Ricers" you see driving around. I think its the row of logos on the arm.... Quote
Major Tom Posted August 23, 2003 Posted August 23, 2003 Hi everyone, here's the actual picture of the decal (found on Yahoo-J) Quote
Gabe Q Posted August 23, 2003 Author Posted August 23, 2003 Well, I'm gonna draw the line here. I'm not gonna get this kit. I have all the VF-1s they released, including the the Angel Bird, the VF-1D trainer and Virgin Road, three battroids, and the M & M double VF-1J set. I have twelve Hasegawa valkyrie kits total and I'll buy anything else they release AS LONG AS IT WAS IN THE SERIES. They're not upsetting me but I just wish they would release something really new, not just a rehash. I am very happy with the kits I have so far. If you don't have a Hasegawa Macross kit yet, you are depriving yourself! Gabe Q Quote
Grayson72 Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 So I don't get it, I thought they were releasing a kit not a new option pack of decals?? Which is it or both maybe? The packaging on the picture looks exactly like one of there option packs. Quote
Gabe Q Posted August 24, 2003 Author Posted August 24, 2003 It looks like they're just gonna stick a strike battroid kit in a box with new instructions and a new decal sheet. You could've already made one if you bought a battroid kit and Macross Option Decal #03. Gabe Q. Quote

Alpha Omega Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 (edited) Well, here's the pic of the official Hasegawa release. Edited August 24, 2003 by Alpha Omega Quote
Gabe Q Posted August 25, 2003 Author Posted August 25, 2003 I couldn't see Alpha Omega's pic so... This straight off of the HLJ website: 1/72 Macross Option Decal #03 (HSG65766) Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 heres the link to HLJ...this thing looks pretty sweet. Minmay Guard Battroid Quote
Alpha Omega Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 (edited) See, not the same thing Yes they are different. But the set previously released are not used for this kit. Kinda sucks because I like that set better than the new one. Still gonna get it though. It still looks pretty cool. So is it safe to assume that the paint scheme (mainly the light blue and dark blue pattern) are painted and not decals? Edited August 25, 2003 by Alpha Omega Quote
