port Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I couldn't wait to get this thing on the wall. I'll tell how a little later. Quote
eugimon Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 oooh, nice job! you gotta show us how you did that Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 that's pretty cool, but wasn't it sideways, not upside down? Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Here is a shot of it all 396922 Let me guess...you're into HEAVY METAL!!! Quote
ikhii Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 the first word came out to my mouth was. "Wow"...hahahha , will try that and find a nice corner to fit in my macross Quote
LORD KUNGFU Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 oooh, nice job! you gotta show us how you did that 396938 uh, hello! hello! ever hear of screws. I kid, I kid. Looks nice. Quote
wolfx Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 You framed up the VF-1S Hikkie box. Cool setup. If you did a jamming session at full power, it looks like all your mecha will collapse. Quote
Veritas Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 That is a neat little idea, if i had the room to do it, i'd try doing that myself. Nice job. BTW what made you decide to display it like that in the first place? Quote
promethuem5 Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 Perfect Dave... came out awesome, and fast... Did you end up doing the coat hanger wire trick, or something else? Quote
halfan Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 That made me think of the way the VFs are launched from the Macross. I wonder if a diorama of a section of the SDF-1 has been made (claw, lights, antennae, the works) showing the VF launching into space? Quote
connor99 Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Looks excellent! and on a sidenote, I think you made a good decision on having to put the valk upside down, instead of on it's side, 'coz that would have put too much stress on the backpack . Nice work! Quote
port Posted May 10, 2006 Author Posted May 10, 2006 The reason it's up side down is because Hikaru Valk came out that way in the last battle in DYRL. I could also easly put it on an angle and be nice an stable if I wanted. I may do that that if I get another stand. Quote
Fly4victory Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Great Job! Is the Valk held by the friction of the claws on the launch arm? Or is it unseen anime magic? Quote
Fortress_Maximus Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Excellent job! Curious, do you plan on adding more 1/48s and creating a squad or even recreating specific scenes? Nice room layout, very organized! Quote
Solscud007 Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 man you tore the flap off the box just to frame it? Quote
port Posted May 13, 2006 Author Posted May 13, 2006 Great Job! Is the Valk held by the friction of the claws on the launch arm? Or is it unseen anime magic? 398399 I took a piece of wire and hooked around the fast pack and thought the opening on support piece in the center of the Launch Arm. I gluded the arms in place. Quote

promethuem5 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 You glued the arms in place? White glue, or real glue!?? Quote

eugimon Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 hmmm...Any reaspon why it is flying upside now? 399114 Intro to DYRL... watch it, watch it now! Quote
Fly4victory Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Great Job! Is the Valk held by the friction of the claws on the launch arm? Or is it unseen anime magic? 398399 I took a piece of wire and hooked around the fast pack and thought the opening on support piece in the center of the Launch Arm. I gluded the arms in place. 399056 Thanks for the secret. I tried tighting the screws and they only increase the tension a little and not very stable when inverted. Will use quick set epoxy inside the joint and then reassemble before it dries. The framed box top is great. It is also a perfect way to save your Hasegawa top's as art. Quote
