Zinjo Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I realize in a few of the scenes we see the destroids are marked "Army", but in the truest naval sense, if the Valkyrie pilots aboard the Macross are naval aviators wouldn't the destroid pilots actually be "Marines"? Now this would specifically refer to the Monsters, Spartans and Tomahawks. The Phalanx and Defender could easily be argued as being piloted by naval gunners for the purpose of anti-aircraft defense. Wes Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Some of the ones based on Earth at the end of the series were in the armies of their various regions. Someone posted a translation of a brief history of the valk developement, and it said that the destroids were the Army's babies, though the Spacey or Marines would have resonably got a few of them. briscojr84 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I'd probably have to say that the majority of them were used by the UNMC, UNSMC, and UNA with a small majority used by the UNS. I know I saw somewhere at some point probably years ago and Egan has changed it at some point that the Destroids used to list what armies were using them. Quote

He does list which armed forces branches use which VFs however, but not for the Destroids. Quote
