Vermillion One
Does anyone own the Gundam Metal RX78 dog tag version? I am looking for any first hand information on it. Details, opinions, and a reasonable price for it. It was the 1/100 all white metal figure that came in a briefcase. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Vermillion One
Thanks Fulcy. Somehow I couldn't find that review myself. I guess that seals the deal.
Solscud007
When I was working at Right Stuff Dist. WE had it in stock. Honestly as a huge gundam fan liek me I could not see paying 400 dolalrs for it. Case is cool and all. But its just a MG RX-78 ver 1. Its not even Ver 1.
Black Valkyrie
I know that`s some impressive piece of chogokin, If I had the cash I would buy it and to bad it ain`t painted but at least 90% metal and I love it. I wish Bandai made more of these Metal Grade Mobile suits.
darkfriar
Does anyone own the Gundam Metal RX78 dog tag version? I am looking for any first hand information on it. Haha... so I'm like totally a couple of years late to this thread but I do fortunately own one so I'll provide you with some first hand info on this piece. 1. the sucker is heavy i mean you can literally chuck it at someone and they'll literally have a concusion 2. Joints are really tight and surprisingly articulate for a piece this heavy, we're talking about 85% metal here this includes the accessories it comes with 3. The dog tag is just a dog tag nothing too special about it but it does provide the serial number of the version you got 4. the brief case is freaking awesome to tout feels like a gun case practically 5. the polish of the metal is a bit dull almost sand blasted like but it really stands out amongst my collection 6. the joints click so holding certain poses are totally possible though hard at times due to its shear wieght 7. there are little hydrolic like piston behind the legs to support the weight distribution as it is equally heavy throughout the entire figure 8. the stickers themselves are laser etched so it really stands out when compared to decals 9. for something with so much metal content and one sided color tone, it's surprisingly super detailed, i mean really really detailed. Price i paid for mines 275.00, but i got really lucky on ebay for this the typical price when it first retailed was for nothing less than 500.00 it comes with couple of fixed hands for interchangeable posing and utilizing of the accessories The shield, beam rifle and even the beam sabers all have metal contents in them complaints i do have: I managed to loose the default attenna when i first opened mines, luckily bandai seems to have thought ahead or anticipated this so they provide a spare one which is identical to the original. the swappable fist do have a tendency to come apart at times but they go back together like any gundamn model you may have built in the past (snaps back on with ease) conclusion: if you can find one, you really should try to get it. This is one of those rare toys that has no comparison when stacked against next to any chogokin you may already own save a few classics, the amount of metal content used to build this thing is hard to put into words. But thus far this is one of those pieces that i have in my collection that i know i'll always value just because of its sheer brilliance.
