Jin_Kune_Do Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 If memory served me right, the Valkyries in SDF Macross had Heads Up Displays (H.U.D) right? and the types used in DYRL didnt have HUDs correct? So if i am right, i am wondering if Yamato will include the HUDs on the VF-1J? Does anyone have any info on this? -Jin Quote
Jin_Kune_Do Posted October 4, 2003 Author Posted October 4, 2003 i found this picture....im not sure, but does it look like there is a HUD right on top of the controls? or is it just the light reflecting over the canopy? -Jin Quote
BlueMax Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 I dunno about the HUD part, but i surelike the picture of this 1/48 1J! Quote
Skull-001 Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 So if i am right, i am wondering if Yamato will include the HUDs on the VF-1J?Does anyone have any info on this? A HUD for the TV version of the VF-1s would be nice, but I don't think Yamato would take the extra effort to put a HUD for any of the VF lines. I was wondering about the HUD ever since the first VF-1 came out. I just the only way to get one is to make one. Yamato didn't even make Kakizaki, I had to custom one from Max. Quote
Gyges Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 I do believe Grahamn mentioned something along the lines of a TV-style cockpit. I presume the HUD (or a suitable equivalent) would be included. Quote
Yohsho Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 Love that look. Graham said TV style cockpit, hands and FAST Packs so gotta think it'll have the HUD. Quote
Yohsho Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 (edited) TV Style Cockpit. Edited October 4, 2003 by Yohsho Quote
Yohsho Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 Hmm it would be cool if I could add attachments. DYRL cockpit. Notice 2 controls vs. 3 in the TV style and other things that if you have good eyes you'll notice. Quote
0Coota0 Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 HUD- Heads Up Display- clear piece of glass that has important information projected on to it (Speed, Altitude, weapons, etc.) Some new technology will allow the head to be projected either onto the canopy itself or onto the pilot's visor, some countries (Russians and Isralies for sure) have a projection on the visor already to allow pilots to target enemy aircraft anywhere around the airplane. Any screen you have to look into the cockpit for is called a Heads Down Display. Qucik Question: Is it just me or does it look like the Valks have a HOTAS (Hands On Throttle and Stick) system, excluding the BGF panel of course? Quote
Toonz Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 this pic is a killer! love the bubble hands Quote
Mr March Posted October 4, 2003 Posted October 4, 2003 OMG that battroid picture looks fantastic! The 1/48 just keeps getting better and better. Quote

Skull-001 Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 Yohsho, would you happen to have a larger image of the TV style cockpit? Quote
Weltall Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 Awesome! Will his visor have the grey outline or not? Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 sweet -1J pics. now lets bring on the M&M 1/48s.... Quote
hellohikaru Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 To avoid confusion the DYRL valks should be called VF-1X-Plus as they have been upgraded. Quote
Yohsho Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 Yohsho, would you happen to have a larger image of the TV style cockpit? Sorry that's as big as I have. I'm really gonna have to buy this one. Quote
ewilen Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 (edited) Hm. I wonder if they've done anything about the "chin". In the first photos shown here, it projected too far for my tastes and looked like a goatee. These latest pics don't bother me so much, so either I'm getting used to it, or they've fixed it, or the angle just doesn't show it well enough. Edited October 5, 2003 by ewilen Quote
Draykov Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Thanks for the pics, Jin. I hadn't seen any yet. I'm in love. Quote
rocco_77 Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 As I think the head sculpt is really good, but does anyone think the head itself looks a bit small on the Battroid? Quote
