JB0 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 hmmm, the toy looks not so good in the ultra crappy photocopy... sad. 399126 It looks to me like the pose is of equal quality to the xerox.

Veritas Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) It is a bad photocopy granted. It's been floating around the net for a little while now, but the coloring that Josh did with Don's original sketches gives me renewed faith in this design. I have a feeling that the figure in the photocopy is just badly transformed and posed in an unassuming manner. I think when we finally see a clearer picture (preferrably in color) we should be able to breathe a sign of relief... at least i sure hope so. Edited May 13, 2006 by Veritas
danth Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I think the new Prime looks awesome. Can't wait to see real pictures.
Chindenathus Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) 398891 I see your image and raise you a TF Classic Hot Rod sketch : Edited May 13, 2006 by Chindenathus
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 It would look even better with this guy involved: http://www.killerpaint.com/flash/killerpai...lash_index.html
Fit For Natalie Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I should note that apparently the above Hot Rod concept was NOT used, and they went with a different, presumebly better design.
myk Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I hate Optimus Prime, but I'd definitely buy that new design...
Fit For Natalie Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 The Hot Rod picture was removed from TFW2005 by request. Don F and Hasbro consider it to be stolen property.
promethuem5 Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Holy crap... if they used a better HotRod than that, I can't wait to see it.
David Hingtgen Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I like that HotRod so much I can't imagine the one they went with as being "better". Different maybe, but better? I bet it'll be worse (to my eyes). "The coolest concept sketch is never used". That holds true for TF's, fighter jets, warships, and everything else.
ComicKaze Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 (edited) Don's post (the artist) Having fun posting my art without consent dude?Seriously, I've let the Prime drawings slide, and I dont know how many more you have with you but please, Unless you have approval from Hasbro themselves, you have NO right posting these because I certainly don't. and it's MY artwork! and BTW, that's NOT even Classics Hotrod, it's just a concept art. I did a bunch of them.. FYI, I'm not mad at you, but to whoever you got these from. this is'nt cool. that's why these images are taken down at tfw2005. Most of these are stolen. Edited May 13, 2006 by ComicKaze
eugimon Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 wow, that's not cool. It sucks when "fans" don't respect the people who work to bring this stuff to us.
eriku Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 That Hot Rod is very, very nice. Hopefully the official one will be even better, but as David said that is hard to imagine. Prime's arm kibble bothers me, but not enough to turn me off.
Fit For Natalie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Which is too bad since Don is a real nice guy - a fan who went on to become one of the most popular TF artists, a good friend of Hasbro's TF boss, as well as a TF toy designer. There's something to be said about a man whose original comic designs are almost always the ones people demand to be turned into toys. And so far, he's the only TF artist whose had his own designs become toys.

promethuem5 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 The Titanium War Within Prime, and the Megatron too I think
Fit For Natalie Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Titanium Prime, Megatron, Jetfire and Thundercracker. Presumebly Titanium Optimal Optimus and Scourge too. From what he's said about Hot Rod's concept, its probable he provided most of the conceptual work for the line, too. He's also provided help for the Energon and Cybertron line (in particular the Starscreams), as well as designing one of the original concepts for Masterpiece Convoy/20th Prime.
JELEINEN Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Sorry if I've been scooped. Looks like this got leaked from the studio:
Dobber Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 That was pretty cool! I wonder what kind of sound effect they'll use for the transformations, I still love the classic G1 noise! Chris
wolfx Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 I thought this was supposed to be a hoax made by a fan?
GobotFool Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 that's been around for a while, I thought it was a confirmed hoax.
JELEINEN Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 If it's fake, then my bad. Still looks cool though. Someone had to've put a lot of work into it.
kam63 Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 not sure it this been posted. If so sorry looks like screen caps from the transformer movie http://www.3dblasphemy.com/OPTIMUS/OPTIMUS.html

She and Arcee were always an object of "mass-interfaces" (orgies) amongst the auto-bots. The decepticons are gay because they can't help it.
JB0 Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) The decepticons are gay because they can't help it. 399511 So it's not part of their programming, they're just built to like guns? Edit: I'm not sure I want to know why you were looking at Transformers porn. Edited May 15, 2006 by JB0
wolfx Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Curiosity mostly. I'll never look at Arcee the same way again.

LL Cool VF1J Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 does anybody know where they got the tranforming sound effect from? I can't find any websites that have that info.
