O.K. Quick question. what do I use to thin Tamiya putty (basic) I was thinking of using isopropyl alchohol, but I thought before I tired I'd ask here.

So what do you floks use?

Try using the Tamiya liquid cement. It works for me but be careful because it is a solvent and it will start to dissolve the plastic(Globs of the putty will do the same). Use Mr. Surfacer if you need a thinner putty.

Mr Color thinner might work---I think I read something that mixing Mr Color Thinner and Tamiya putty is basically home-made not-so-fine-grained Mr Surfacer.

So so essentially that's Tamiya putty and laquer thinner, then. I had hoped I could avoid the stonger solvents but I guess I'll give it a try.
