Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 (edited) Hi all. I hope the moderators allow me to pimp my book here. The first miniseries became somewhat of a small cult thing, so with that in mind I put all my skill to keep this second installment on the level. Here's the cover. Also Dark Horse has a four page preview of the book here: http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=13-691 Let me know what you my trusted fellow macrossworlders, think of it. David Hingtgen Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I was going to post in the comic thread that I found and bought it today. (At my local friendly independent comic shop) Quote
Mr March Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Strange. This is the first I've heard of the book. The four-page preview was somewhat amusing, maybe I'll check it out. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 It wasn't much of a commercial success when the first miniseries came out, now the first two issues are really hard to get. Kevin Rubio, the writer, told me that a first issue just went on eBay for 170 bucks. To think I gave away my courtesy copies to my friends... Quote
EXO Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I gotta see if my store got this, I loved the first one. Quote
Guppy Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Hilarious! And that's what the Lucas-fun-hating star wars universe really needs. Great work! Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Hey if you have anymore copies to give away at DH I'll be happy to keep 'em safe for ya. I love the cover! We should have a bunch to give away at the San Diego Comic Con. And if I get an hotel room they'll be even signed by me Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 I gotta see if my store got this, I loved the first one. Kevin writing is as great as always, but my work really improved in all these years. I think you'll love this one. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 30, 2006 Author Posted March 30, 2006 Hilarious! And that's what the Lucas-fun-hating star wars universe really needs. Great work! Thanks, Man. Kevin and I are both huge Star Wars fans and also huge Star Wars critics. If you liked the first issue you'll love the second one that takes place in the prequels, where theres' so much to say! Sadly we only had 22 pages to say it. Quote
Knight26 Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 I love Tag and Bink I will have to find a comic book shop and pick it up. Quote
Rider Faiz Posted March 30, 2006 Posted March 30, 2006 Oddly enought, I just saw this yesterday in my local comic shop and leafed through it to see what the hell it was. Didn't pick it up though as I didn't have enough cash on me. -RF Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 31, 2006 Author Posted March 31, 2006 (edited) Fair enough, RF. Edited March 31, 2006 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
Radd Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 So difficult to get out to a comic store, they're usually opening as I'm going to sleep, and long closed when I'm rolling out of bed to shower before work. Still, getting my hands on this is one of the things I'm really looking forward to. It's frustrating that so many of my favourite things are commercial flops. I hope this new book does better than previous Tag&Bink books in that regard. Quote
Sephiroth Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 The artist for Tag & Bink is a fellow member of MW? That is so cool! I remember picking up Tag & Bink Are Dead issues 1 and 2 from the book store in the mall when they first came out. Although I'm not a huge fan of SW and had never bought any SW-related comics before then; the title and cover art caught my attention and so I had to give the first issue a try. The story had me laughing out loud and the art was great. I saw the ads for the new installment of Tag & Bink in Wizard and I can't wait to get my hands on them. Quote
Rocket Punch Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 This looks pretty neat. I'll make it a point to pick this up, Soldier Boy. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted April 3, 2006 Author Posted April 3, 2006 I think it's worth the reading (tho' I say so myself). Kevin is a very smart writer and I do my best to keep up with him. We even have fans among the Star Wars comics purists, that usually refuse to buy non-canon books! Kevin told me last time we met in L.A. a few days back, that Wizard magazine named it the 4th greatest SW comic of all time. Personally, I don't believe it. Also I was told of a trade paperback to be released later this year, but no one as asked me for a cover for that one yet, so I'm not sure about that either. Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I haven't had a chance to pick this one up yet, but LSB, if you ever see the team from KOTOR, tell 'em their first arc is awesome!! I had my store order me T&B for this week. hope it comes in! Quote

David Hingtgen Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 I'm enjoying KOTOR a lot too, only SW book I'm currently reading. (Asides from Tag and Bink of course) Who else thinks yellow will be the saber color of choice now for KOTOR 3? Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted April 3, 2006 Author Posted April 3, 2006 I would like copies signed please. We'll probably have a bunch signed by me and Kevin, at the Dark Horse booth for free Quote
Radd Posted April 3, 2006 Posted April 3, 2006 The important question, is when will Lucasfilm hire Kevin to do an animated Tag & Bink television series or movie? Or Tag and Bink appearing on an episode of the ongoing TROOPS tv series? Quote

Actually, Kevin is writing some of the episodes of the Clone Wars cartoon right now. We'll see... Quote
