Scream Man Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 dammit, that angel bird is growing on me.....I dont want it to grow on me....
Arthurius Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 R Dekard, you have the most amazing pictures ever. Would have per chance the GBP 2.0, and if so, can you take pictures of that and the stealth vf-1j. Also, can you take a picture of the vf-1j with the GBP 1.0, really curious how it would look like. Thanks.
SILVERDRAGON Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 (edited) Here are pics of 2 of my cyclone's one opened and the other closed never opened. Edited September 15, 2006 by SILVERDRAGON
Onimusha-shin Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 i HATE you and your pristine collection of vintage valks (& mospeadas too)!!! but that's just my jealousy acting up. great pics of a great vintage piece. Deckard's pics are like those of a professional toy photographer. all we need is a great camera with good lighting and a dedication to cleaning up your photos. btw, the Super Stealth battroid pics look a little grainy. ^^
jenius Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 How does one "clean up" photos? Do you have a software you'd recommend? I'd love to start doctoring up my photos a bit or switching out colors or editing out backgrounds but I would have no idea where to begin....
Onimusha-shin Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 jenius, i think Deckard mentioned in this or another thread that he uses photoshop to clean up blemishes or odd colourations.
R_Deckard Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Yep, you need photoshop. It very easy to use. When I'm doing batches of photos I just run Auto Levels and Auto Contrast which works great for most photos. The initial photo shot is the most important however, it has to be close and the lighting is the most important part of the intial photo. I'm still trying to get perfect, the bulbs I use for my lighting are not right.
mechatek Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Great pics R Deckard. What did you use for the panel lines on your valks?
R_Deckard Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Thanks. I used a very light handed 0.3 mechanical pencil with HB lead.
realdeal Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Thanks. I used a very light handed 0.3 mechanical pencil with HB lead. Where do you get one of those? I tried a Michael's a while back and couldn't find it.
1 VF-1 2NV Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Where do you get one of those? I tried a Michael's a while back and couldn't find it. Ebay .
anime52k8 Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Where do you get one of those? I tried a Michael's a while back and couldn't find it. Japanese stationary stores.
R_Deckard Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Where do you get one of those? I tried a Michael's a while back and couldn't find it. You can get them at any art supply store or graphics store. The generic stores like Micheals might not have them, try stores that are exclusive to art and graphics supplies.
Mog Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Pics of the current set-ups for my rather humble Yamato collection: And lastly, one of my favorite pics of my custom-stickered Stealth:
Rabidweezil Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 A few quick photos of my nearly completed Stealth. All I have to do is add a few stickers and paint on a few small details
mister_e Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 That looks really good. I like the markings you used. Are they stickers or decals? Also, how did you get rid of the skulls on the tailfins?
Rabidweezil Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the compliment. Those are Takatoys stickers. And to get rid of the tail skulls, I used ELO. Easy Lift Off. It's a decal and paint remover that's not as harsh as paint thinner. It was sort of weird though. Some of the grey came off on the first fin I did because the skull was being stubborn. But I had a grey I mixed for something else that was almost identical. It's barely noticable. The other fin, not a smidgen of grey was removed and the skull came off a lot easier. jenius Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Wow, great pics everybody! Penachoy, that's a very solid collection you have going there. Detolfs display cases are great but they really are tight on space aren't they??? I tried to do a bad guy cube like you have and there just wasn't enough space
ghostryder Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 (edited) Rabidweezil - Great minds think alike... Did you pimp out your the heatshield with an Enigma sticker? Edited September 25, 2006 by ghostryder
ZorClone Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 here's a pic of 2 of mine that I ran a filter on to kinda give them a cell-shaded look. Yeah I know, I don't have any stickers on them yet I'M LAZY!
do not disturb Posted September 26, 2006 Posted September 26, 2006 dude, your valks are totally broken..... theres so FP on them.

Macross73 Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 yep. i forget at the moment who i bought that from but it came with a custom pilot. I thought i'd have it recasted at some point but i've never gotten that done.
jenius Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 So I finally got around to reviewing the Strike/Super VF-1J Stealth at my site. I advise you CHECK IT OUT
ShadowerV2 Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I really like your reviews. Thanks for the review.
connor99 Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) I don't know what it is about this particular 1/60 variant, but I keep coming back to it. I've bought and sold this 3 times in the last 5-6 years. I mean, it's not as stunning as the 1/48 version in fighter mode, but it looks pretty good. That must be one of it's redeeming qualities, but of course, I've always been a sucker for a YAMATO valk in it's fighter mode. That must be it then! Just wanted to share ! Edited October 11, 2006 by connor99
Eternal_D Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 man, ever since they 1/48's come out, I haven't gone back to the 1/60 vf-1 except for the 1D... i miss the diecast feel of the 1/60 but not enough to play with them that much.
jenius Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 (edited) I really like your reviews. Thanks for the review. Thanks! VF-1A Angelbirds, GBP VII and updated 1/48 reviews are comin' up... gonna be lots more pictures Edited October 11, 2006 by jenius
