Phren Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 (edited) just a little update after getting the VF-0, Stealth and er.... WoodWood Greeny valk *pic removed* 404525 Awesome collection Toonz - thanks for sharing!! 404802 Nice. Good variety, too. Can't help but be jealous. Even with a triple display cabinet, you still need to store your super 1/60's in penguin attacker mode to have enough space Edited June 13, 2006 by Phren
Vermillion21 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Cool pics jenius!! Those were all Yamato 1/60 valkyries, correct? I got the impression from the forums they were lame ... now I have to reconsider getting one ...
Vermillion21 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Update on my collection.... 407708 drool ... drool ....
jenius Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Cool pics jenius!! Those were all Yamato 1/60 valkyries, correct?I got the impression from the forums they were lame ... now I have to reconsider getting one ... Oh no, I should have specified, those are all 1/60s with the exception of two pictures that are of a 1/48 VF-1S (one with strike parts).

ghostryder Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 woow... i guess i got lots of catching up to do. Buy buy... wallet gone gone... 408172 Tell me about it .... 408302 Uh, yeah. I'm still sitting here with two (2) 1/48s. Here's Hikaru in crappy midnight basement lighting showing off Sempai's heatshield - Reminds me of the 1/55 strike box art . It's also canon if you count that animation error in DYRL after he blows up Bodolza.
do not disturb Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Here is my current display. The room is a bit dark, so please excuse the inconvenience. 408356 you got a really nice set up there man, its not cluttered and everything has its own space to be enjoyed, really nice!

vlenhoff Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 It's hard not to keep it cluttered. A couple of years ago, it would have been hard to even have a display like this, and now I have to decide what goes there without making it too busy.
wolfx Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Just wondering, how did they do the little rivets on to the valk? http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...hj-may-06-1.jpg Did they drill little holes all over it?
eugimon Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Just wondering, how did they do the little rivets on to the valk?http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...hj-may-06-1.jpg Did they drill little holes all over it? 411529 wow... what a pain in the ass... and I know it looks cool and all, but rivets on a mecha just strikes me as silly.
wolfx Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Not really to me, cause traditionally u see rivets on all the hasegawa valks, and most jet models. So its kinda cool that the 1/48 was given a "model" look by adding the rivets. I was confused that the pic i was looking at was a model or the 1/48 at 1st.
ikhii Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 I'm very happy to announce that yesterday, the "King of all monsters" has just join in my macross family. Love this big bad monster...
izzyfcuk Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 Just wondering, how did they do the little rivets on to the valk?http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...hj-may-06-1.jpg Did they drill little holes all over it? 411529 im trying to copy this look, but recently having too much on hands isn't helping, but well, i got myself a dot punch, so i'll have to see what i can come out with in future
UN_MARINE Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 hmm... the rivets look like decals to me i suppose it's a "less painful" operation if they were decals and the thought of drilling individual holes is kinda nerve-racking
Phren Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 (edited) Nerve racking? I would think that applying alllllllllllllllllll those little tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny decals would be FAR more annoying BTW I think the rivets look cool, but peraps a bit overboard in spots... But that's what I like about Valkyries above ther 'mecha'; they're believeable enough to make the look work. Edited June 28, 2006 by Phren
UN_MARINE Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 i suppose that's my take on how to apply those rivets i'm usually all for drilling & cutting, but not on something as expensive as these things... hmm... maybe if i had a couple more of 'em, i could... *evil laugh*
wolfx Posted June 28, 2006 Posted June 28, 2006 But don't usually rivets stick out of the armour and not actually holes in the armour? Cause those rivets look like they're sticking out. Probably gotta ask the modelling folk bout this. Nice picture, Ikii. Apply teh eyes on him.
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 It kinda looks a bit like the sdf1 there with the sun shining off it. All you need now is a little city built up around it in worship of the king monster.
Vermillion21 Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 ikhii - Whoa, way cool pic!! Thanks for sharing.
ikhii Posted June 29, 2006 Posted June 29, 2006 yeh... thanks guys. I will surely make some changes to it and make it look like a warzone. It's a new member of my macross family and I'll try to welcome it in the best way... .
CdnShockwave Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 My latest UN Spacy recruitment poster featuring the VF-1J super stealth
Macross73 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 (edited) My latest UN Spacy recruitment poster featuring the VF-1J super stealth 413317 very nice but the faint shadow on the right looks odd since the sun is behind the Valk and the shadow is seen cast toward the viewer. just a thought. edit : sp, tire now. Edited July 3, 2006 by Macross73
Onimusha-shin Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 the word 'stealth' takes on a new meaning in that picture.
Crazy Canuck II Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Cross post from here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=18562 Finally picked up a glass cabinet from Ikea to display my humble collection. Nothing rare or of particular interest other than perhaps my Transformable lego Optimus. I'm pretty pleased with the cabinet and plan on getting more. Vermillion21 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Nice cabinet mate and cool collection! Thanks for sharing. I need to buy myself a display cabinet ....
Agent-GHQ Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 That is quite a collection Toonz! Just one question where's the low viz 1 love? 404641 lowviz 1? sigh.....sigh......sigh...... i missed out on that one.... 404713 Say WHAT!!! . Arent you a retailer?
Onimusha-shin Posted July 7, 2006 Posted July 7, 2006 he isn't. at least i'm sure he doesn't collect as much as kensei or godzilla. and the way they do collecting without being retailers is pretty criminal in itself.
