ruskiiVFaussie Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 wtf i only just noticed that! flat black is rather nice.
Wicked Ace Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 It is dark grey and any good flat paint will do on this parts paint chipping free lol Tamiya brand Gunship Gray is the exact color for those interested. Flat white looks good too -- I tried it, along with Light Blue (German Airforce). Oh, and Kyp, I took apart my brand new toy and used a combo of 6mm Tamiya masking tape and automotive "blue line" for the curves. I'm not sure what color this one will be next. I'll ruin some toys with my paints.
eugimon Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 That gray does look very nice. Gives it a much military feel than the bright yellow.

I do own an airbrush, but I'm a sucker for the no_cleanup option. As requested, here's a pic taken with only sunlight to illustrate how different the blue Yamato went with can look in different types of light -- a consideration when choosing an accent color.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 (edited) It's nice, i still like my yellow though (with the blue). Imagine this same blackish colour with an all red YF-21. (millia) Edited July 10, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie
Wicked Ace Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 I opened another of my moving boxes, found another 1/60 scale toy, then added it to the centerpiece.
eugimon Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Ah, that's just pure and righteous awesomness right there.
Wicked Ace Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 (edited) Imagine this same blackish colour with an all red YF-21. (millia) I can't imagine what that would look like. Edited July 10, 2008 by Wicked Ace

Wicked Ace Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Godammit, I wish I could customize as well as you while drunk . I'd forgotton how awsome that sundowners VF-0A is. Thanks for the compliment. What will be awesome is if the shoulders stay intact; my project is actually a first issue VF-0S.
eugimon Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 nice. I like how the nora has that blood red tint to it after your PS
Wicked Ace Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 It's too hot to sleep... I really like this pic. Nice stuff.

Fly4victory Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 How Yamato improves the display-ability of Toynami!
ruskiiVFaussie Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 (edited) haha that actually looks pretty cool with the LED and of course the non-canon R head. Edited July 13, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie
MacrossMan Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I opened another of my moving boxes, found another 1/60 scale toy, then added it to the centerpiece. Always been a fan of that VF-0A Sundowner...some of you dudes have been blessed with talent the rest of us can only imagine. I can only dream of doing to my toys what some of you guys here are able to do. As always, thanks for sharing! OO
MacrossMan Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Thanks, but it only looks impressive because they're all clustered together. Clustered or not, impressive nontheless. Please tell me they were only set up on that table for the photo shoot. Looks like too much going on in the background for those gems to be out in the open like that. OO
MacrossMan Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 How Yamato improves the display-ability of Toynami! Hmmm...I think I like it!
Arthurius Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Hey Wicked Ace, you re-repainted the stripes from yellow to black to white. Can you please take more pictures, specially like the nice ones of robot mode you took.
Wicked Ace Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) Arthurius and eugimon, yeah, I've been playing with the accent colors again. Really, this looks good right out of the box -- I just wanted to see what other accent colors looked like. Edited July 14, 2008 by Wicked Ace
