areaseven Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 D-Day today at 17:00 Japan time, which means this thread should be retitled to reflect the new series. Quote

Primus1X Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 If that link does not work, try DAISUKI, the other official streamer. http://www.daisuki.net/anime/watch/MOBILESUITGUNDAMIRONBLOODEDORPHANS/Ipd Quote
joppewo Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Great first episode. Orga is giving off the Kamina vibes Quote
Marzan Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Great first episode. Orga is giving off the Kamina vibes I enjoyed it too. Nice production values and, good setup and I Love the Gundam design Quote
areaseven Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Oh yeah, and the fat guy's not useless at all. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 What is even the point of an official English sub release that you won't make available to the US?Now I'm just gonna torrent it and they won't even get ad money. Quote

F360 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 wow, its looking really good, can't wait for next week. Quote

VF-15 Banshee Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Very solid first episode and I enjoyed the characters, particulalrly Biscuit and Orga. The exposition bits with McGillis and Gaelion were a bit clunky but most everything else was done pretty well. Like many, I liked how we're starting off with the Mobile Workers and that these Gjallarhorn MS are very threatening and of course it was great to see Barbatos in motion and that Gjallarhorn guy get so totally owned. All in all, unlike the first episode of the previous show I found this to be very organic, dynamic and engaging. My faith is strengthened and my body is ready for more. COME AT ME, GUNDAM!! Quote
Keith Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Watched it on hulu. Nice enough start, feels a little like Wing to me. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Because it's on Daisuki? Daisuki wouldn't load it for me. Not to mention they have the most intrusive ads ever. Crunchyroll will be airing it starting next week. That's a much more compelling argument for watching a show legitimately than Daisuki streaming. Quote

no3Ljm Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Got my 0079 vol 1 BD set from Rightstuf. Freakin' beautiful, bring on vol 2 & the movies! How was it? Does it have english subs? Thanks. Quote
Keith Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 How was it? Does it have english subs? Thanks. English subs, and Vandai's old shitty dub. http://www.rightstufanime.com/Mobile-Suit-Gundam-Part-1-Bluray Quote
areaseven Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Is "Cucuruz Doan's Island" included in the set? Quote
dizman Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 How is the blu ray transfer? Also the old shitty dub is the best! Quote
joppewo Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Is "Cucuruz Doan's Island" included in the set? No. Seems like Tomino refuses to allow that episode to be released anywhere else apart from Japan Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 No. Seems like Tomino refuses to allow that episode to be released anywhere else apart from Japan And yet he allows us the displeasure of watching Recrapista In G. Quote
joppewo Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 On the topic of Gundam BD's; since my Victory BD Box II came in today: Individual shelf close-ups I'm sure you can guess that I'm a UC loving Gundam fan Do have 0083:Stardust Memory & Origin II on pre-order at AmzJP; left with 0080: War in the Pocket whenever it gets a re-master Don't crucify me on the SEED/DESTINY BD sets. Have a soft spot for it despite its glaring problems (more so than Wing, which I never plan on re-visiting.) They came with english subtitles and I was able to find them for less than half of retail price. So I figured why not grab em instead of waiting on an NA release with no guarantee of collector-like packaging and PQ/SQ. Quote
Keith Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Why'd you put CCA before ZZ? How is the blu ray transfer? Also the old shitty dub is the best! Looks great. Someone on Mania.com mentioned seeing compression artifacts, but I think they're being paranoid. Quote
joppewo Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Why'd you put CCA before ZZ? Mixed up the order while cleaning the shelves previously Didn't realise while taking the photo. Quote
Primus1X Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 If you cannot watch it on YouTube, use DAISUKI. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 If you can't bear 480p upscaling, try Crunchyroll. For that matter, if for some stupid reason Daisuki's stream won't load in your browser due to extension incompatibility issues, try Crunchyroll's free mirror of Daisuki's 480p stream. Or, if you have the aptitude, do some IP tunneling to bypass YouTube's region-locking and watch it there. It's even in HD, probably. And if you really want to support the show, buy the model kits because it's a 25 or 50 episode toy commercial (depending on how successful the initial run is) and that's much more profitable than website ad revenue. For that matter, TV syndication deals probably would be too. But lackluster ratings for 00 were caused by Americans not caring about Gundam, not the poorly-marketed lame dub aired in a bad ratings block on a cable TV channel that's been floundering for over a decade, so I guess we can forget about that possibility. Excuse my cynicism, I work the night shift. Quote
Primus1X Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Biscuit, Cookie and Cracker... these names are on the Toriyama level of awesome. Quote
grss1982 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Just saw the first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans and color me impressed!!! But why does the Barbatos remind me of Exia for some reason? O_o Quote
Gubaba Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Because there are only so many ways you can tweak the original Gundam's design...? Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Because there are only so many ways you can tweak the original Gundam's design...? Yeah just add a buch of stupid ass spikes and oversized weapons to the RX-78-2 and you basically have the main gundams of the last 20 years. Quote
SchizophrenicMC Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Twenty? More like 30 years. This goes all the way back to the MkII. Quote
