I liked 0083 too! Also who cares if the compilation movie will feature Legilis Refined? Age-FX is the only gundam out there that is actually any bad.

0083 had really cool mecha design... and that's about it. I will say this though, 0083 and 8th MS are at least better than CCA.

As a huge Gundam fan, I will admit for me, 0083 is my favorite of the short series and for the long series Zeta and 00 seem to be the ones I like the most although lately I keep coming back to the original series. I was always surprised Gundam X never made it stateside after Wing.

I liked 0083, too. Although I think it works better AFTER you've seen Zeta, so you already know who all the sinister people at the end are, why they're grinning evilly, and why the Federation soldiers are putting on those neat black uniforms.

i.e. I think it's meant to be more of an, "Ah HA! So THAT'S how it happened!" rather than an "OMG! What's gonna happen next!?"

I watched 0083 after Zeta, and I still really didn't pick up on that reference until after a second watching. Lol, I guess I don't pay attention to uniforms all that closely But yeah, it was a nice way of showing us how things came to be in Zeta, since there's no way we'd see any significance in black uniforms without knowledge of zeta.

Favourite Gundam? The Turn-A. Never have I been so surprised by a design that I absolutely hated when I first saw it.

The RX-93 Nu-Gundam. I've always liked the colours on that one, black and white like its the UC Police coming to bust Chars... posterior.

The Gundam Mk. II, espcially in Titans Colours. Always looked like a "bruiser".

The Turn-X Gundam. I never really liked the design until I got the Robot Spirits toy of it and I was able to appreciate the design a lot more. Theres something almost "Halo" about it.

Well, it's just about time. If you count back from Japanese time, then the first episode of the Destiny Remaster should be broadcasting tomorrow at about 8:00 MDT (10 EST). Time for fun, yes?

I have to ask a question. It's only tangentially related to Destiny, since Caridad only has a few brief cameos but I was puttering around on the Gundam wiki and found Caridad's article which says that she is Via Hibiki's (Kira's biological mother) sister and that she spirited away Cagalli and Kira from the Al da Flaga mansion right before Rau burned it down. As usual with stuff on Gundam wiki, it's not sourced.

In addition to the fact that I have never once before in all these years heard that Via and Caridad were related (I had always assumed that caridad and Haruma were just selected by Uzumi to take care of Kira), I also begin to wonder who exactly is Caridad Yamato that she could meet with the leader of her country about such an issue? I even begin to wonder why they bothered to separate the children.

Hyaku Shiki, GM Custom from 083, Gerbera Tetra and Kampfer always stood out to me. Tallgeese 3 was awesome IMO.....TBH I always like a lot of the generic suits like GMs and Leos....maybe I am just a rarity in that way.

OK here are my own impressions of this first episode. Part of this is because I was young and foolish back in 2005 and I ragequit the show, so this is the first time I've watched it all the way through.

The OP isn't too bad but what's with all the kinda-sorta nudity? It's like the reverse of nipples on the Batsuit. The first part of the episode is pretty good, what with the death of Shinn's family. Is that the way they originally presented it, with Calamity opening fire, then Freedom fires and then BOOM, dead family? Poor Shinn.

Unfortunately, everything else fails to grip me. It's pretty much the same as the first episode of SEED, except the roles are reversed. This time, it's the Alliance that's doing the stealing from ZAFT with the minor difference that the Impulse was already on the Minerva. At least Shinn had already signed his enlistment papers.

Cagalli unfortunately comes off sounding hypocritical. I don't think she has a leg to stand on to lecture others on the dangers of advanced military technology, considering that ORB just built their next-generation transforming Mobile Suits and has the rebuilt Freedom Gundam and the Archangel hidden away on their island. *sigh* the degradation begins.
