Morpheus Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Gundam Origin? I'll give two thumbs if only it will potraying the ZEON side. Sieg Zeon. Quote
Keith Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 At htis point, I'd kill for the rest of MS IGLOO to get licensed. In other news, the 00 movi ebluray came with a trailer for 0079 TV. As feared, it'll only be 42 episodes. Quote
Gubaba Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Well...after Origin ended, I finally dropped Gundam Ace magazine (kind of a shame...I'd been collecting it since Issue #1), but today, I took the plunge and started getting the DeAgostini Gundam Perfect File. Not sure yet if I've made a wise purchase or not... Quote
VFTF1 Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 I totally forgot that I watched Charr's Counter Attack a while back, wrote up this review - and didn't actually post it...so...here are my thoughts on this OVA: http://dyrl.pl/detale.html?id=1062 Pete Quote
Beltane70 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Um, Pete, Char's Counterattack was a theatrical film, not an OVA... Quote
VFTF1 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Oops. Thanks for the heads up. I'll change that as soon as I get a chance :-) Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Also, I've never seen Char spelled with two R's. Quote
VFTF1 Posted November 14, 2011 Posted November 14, 2011 Also, I've never seen Char spelled with two R's. Edited it to one R- thanks. I don't know why I wrote it with two..beats me... maybe it was in the subs or something. I watched a dub with sub-titles...if that makes sense. Pete Quote

Not sure yet if I've made a wise purchase or not... I did the same just cause the fold out artwork was beautiful. Then I went to Taiwan and they started publishing the old Gundam Official Files. Are they that different? So far they look similar other than new artwork in the Perfect File, but the Taiwan printing is 50% of the Japanese version at least in terms of US dollars. Quote

I know the Taiwanese versions (or just about anything) are cheaper, but I'd rather have a version that I can actually READ. Plus, I'm pretty sure the Taiwanese version is unavailable here... Quote
azrael Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Fans of the Variable Fighter Master Files or the RGM-79 Master Archive will be glad to know that the RX-78 Master Archive has a street date. http://blog.yahoo.com/cybergundam/articles/211743/index On sale Dec. 15, 2011. Quote
Penguin Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Lookin' forward to that. The RGM one isn't quite as cool as the VF Master Files, but the tech-head in me still loves all those specs and schematics. Quote
azrael Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Mobile Suit Gundam SEED HD Remaster, ep 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWtuU5H6BdQ Yes, they cropped it to widescreen. Ewwwww. Looks like they updated the opening animation and some work on the songs. Quote
Keith Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Looks too cropped, not sure I'd be up for that release. Quote
mikeszekely Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Looks too cropped, not sure I'd be up for that release. It's Gundam SEED, I'm definitely not up for that release. I mean, they took my least-favorite Gundam series, and actually made it worse. Quote

ps99042 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Yup, this news about Bandai Entertainment is unexpected but not surprising. I just hope the companies they license stuff to for release get me all the Gundam series that haven't been released in the US. Quote
azrael Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Interview with Ken Iyadomi. There's still a chance that Turn A may come, but it won't be under the BEI label. But considering how Sunrise's licensors are, it would have to be a hefy investment on any company going for the Gundam license. Quote

Marzan Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Seriously bummed out at hearing that Turn might not get a subtitled release after all. I had put off watching it in order to catch it properly... Sigh... Quote

ps99042 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Kind of off topic but since you guys mentioned it, when does ZZ get good? I'm up to episode 16 and just keep falling asleep when it's on. Haven't had this much trouble watching a Gundam series since 00. So far, I'm liking AGE much more than ZZ. Quote

mikeszekely Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 (edited) when does ZZ get good? Are they in the desert yet? I think around there. China makes you a Gundam star for a few hundred dollars. We design and develop our own animation with their own copyrights. They do contain elements of popular titles, but all are adapted ourselves so there is no copyright concerns. Let me get this straight... if I want make a movie about Chinese kids piloting a Gundam to keep the cast of Monsters vs. Aliens from coming to Earth, I'm not violating any copyrights as long as I animate it myself? What's more, apparently I get to copyright the finished product myself. Edited January 23, 2012 by mikeszekely Quote

Basically, when Bright stops being straight man to a bunch of meddling kids, that'll be about when. Quote
