I don’t mind the characters so far. It kinda reminds me of Gainax stuff. And the gundam sorta has a bit of a newer evangelion look. Although I do think the gundam is so ugly that I’m not interested in a kit or a toy from this. The premise sounds a bit like a cross between G gundam and buildfighters. 
 

I think the reason I don’t mind the character animation is because I’ve been doing a rewatch of the seed stuff and those characters are drawn really poorly and now that I’m into the seed destiny episodes I get what Seto was saying about the characters looking alike. There was a whole conversation going on with Athrun and until his name was mentioned I thought it was shin and oddly shin is kinda drawn almost as a missing link between Athrun and Kira and I sometimes get a little confused between Kira and Shin also. I kinda forgot about the meer Campbell imposter thing and i know I’m gonna get confused there as well, but I think that one was intentional, but pointless 

i guess Gundam seed makes almost anything look better

Studio Khara so that checks out. If anyone can drag Gundam back to modern relevancy, it's them, so best of luck to them.

I'm not either, but it's better than the mechanical designs.  Woof.

I gave SEED crap at the time for rehashing a lot of the One Year War but worse, but twenty years of crap* have made me a lot more forgiving of it and 00.

*TV series, anyway, Unicorn and Thunderbolt were pretty good, and Hathaway's Flash was a good start.

I'm still hoping for a high quality OVA of Gundam Sentinel one day, although due to the licencing mess with that it will probably never happen.

A nicely animated Crossbone Gundam TV series would be my second choice.

I really hate the name of this show though. I hope it gets changed. Imagine trying to tell people what you’re watching and having to try and say that title.

Honestly, my biggest problem is that this teaser makes it sound like we're just recycling the same premise they did in the previous show, The Witch from Mercury.

"Students gamble on Mobile Suit fights for no adequately explored reason beyond boredom and because the plot says they have to."

Even before I saw the director credit, I immediately said "Kare Kano, Diebuster, FLCL".

"Kazuya Tsurumaki", I am 1000% on board for this.

I'm not too thrilled about how the characters or the Gundam looks in the trailer. But you never know, its not uncommon for Sunrise to come out with a new model Gundam or upgraded version midway through the series.

This is definitely the ugliest gundam ever. From the head to the feet, and the clown colors everywhere don’t help. It’s a mess.

Every time they do a new Gundam TV series I think it's the mechanical designs can't get any worse, and every time they prove me wrong. Aerial was worse than Barbatos, and this thing is new levels of bad.

I didn’t hate the aerial, but a lot of the designs were very ugly and awkwardly stumpy looking in that show. But I get what you’re saying. The overall designs in these share losing their elegance for trying too hard to be different and failing hard. I don’t know who keeps trying to make feet uglier and uglier on these things and this new one has the worst of them.

I thought it was ugly when I could only see bits and pieces of it in the trailer, but seeing the whole thing at once is just 🤮.

Does it have three arms in this picture?  And what the hell is going on with its feet?  I can't tell if it has elf shoe-style feet or it's got spiked stiletto heels like something out of Five Star Stories.

Uuuuuuugly. I thought it was something from Virtual On at first glance.

It looks like it has something protruding off its back making it look like it has 3 arms.

And then the feet: I’m thinking it’s like half of a foot with a single pivot point on one side with a bit of a stiletto heel. Not sure. Definitely don’t care.

Now give me the next part to Hathaway, gundamit!!

Pretty disappointed truthfully. We keep going back into competition battles for no reason which result in sloppy story telling. And bad character development.

we haven’t had like a legit war story of a tv series since I think Age and that was 2011.
