Awesome.

lol

Looks like Hitler's secret weapon. Too bad it came out too late to change the course of the war

What do you mean 'too bad'?

I can just imagine the Japanese bring out a Valkyrie/s and making mince meat of everyone and everything in the war.

Not funny...

I meant too bad for Hitler. As for the japanese, I always tought that they have this huge underground complex were they're making an army of mechas to take over the world, subsidied by taxes on all the merchandising of said mechas, such as Labors, Valkyries, Garlands, and Gundams. Heck, for what we know they could even have a division of Köenig Monsters protecting the perimeter by now!

Seeing the Brokken, I can't help but hope for a Revoltech 2.0 Protect Gear. I'd love to have an affordable one, so far recent releases have been 1/6, very pretty, but heckuva ex. Would love to have one that I could fiddle around with...

Hmm, was unsure of where to put this, so I'll put here just in case. Mods, if you want to move this, that's ok with me.

Was not willing to get another VF Revoltech for the cance-... er, gunpod, so I have Prime lend his rifle for Focker to go John Woo on everybody:

Caption it as you wish :D

Geez, I might have to get a digital camera if I can't stop taking pics. It'll be better than my crappy L6 camera phone.

The BG are actually a series of mechanical base sets made by Kotobukiya, seen here:

Set 1

Set 2

Set 3

They are very good and can be chained together. The accessories that come with them are very nice, and for 1/144 models are a perfect scale to display MSes in, though CCA-era MS are a tad too big. Even the Revoltech Labours look very good in them. If you got the space to display them, I heartily recommend a set of 3 -- but they do eat up space, so getting more than that isn't recommended.

What mech is that in the first picture of set 2?

I would love to get VF-1S just so Roy can steal a gunpod from my Hikaru 1J.

Convoy gun looks just as good though.

That looks like Koto Demonbane.

Don't like that mecha. Far too busy looking. It's like those over-the-top super robots or uber-gundams with all the crazy spires/fins/wings/protrusions. Way too baroque.

Perhaps it might look better to me put into context. Personally, baroque only works for me when done in science fiction-fantasy anime. Specifically, when Japanese mechanical designers adopt western-style motifs to create mecha like the Guymelefs of Escaflowne or the Mortar Headds of Five Star Stories. The setting and a sense of majesty helps sell the baroque mecha designs and they mesh very well with the high fantasy-like fiction.

I agree. The knees especially look stupid. I've seen that concept before, but they were way better executed.

Can someone in the know explain to me why this is listed as "New Price"?

http://www.hlj.com/product/KYD01170

(Revoltech Eva-01 Type F [New Price])

Is it the exact same release as the first which is discontinued? Both look to have the same features, and accessories.

http://www.hlj.com/product/KYD01110

(EVA-01 Type F AFC Experiment)

Why so much more expensive? Are they that popular (imo it's a crap design.)

Kaiyodo's new Fraulein Revoltech might be a good news for Revy fans.

Sooo, why not call it Rei? I don't understand where the term or name Fraulein comes from, is that the Japanese name for Rei?

I guess if it's the japanese name for Rei for the original series then i missed it coz i haven't watched the series original in Jap yet.

And Rei's bootei will never compare to Revy's. And Boobei for that matter.....

Fraulein is the name of the new revoltech series. Supposedly the guy behind revoltech saber made this joint system. They feature shoulder and leg revo joints embedded inside the body, hence it's more optimized for female figures rather than robots.

As for the reason why they are Fraulein, I have no idea. Maybe it just sounded good...
