Mowe Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Yes, I agreed. There is just something not quite right about the sculpt proportion. But hell, they still look fun and you can't beat the revoltech posability. it's either the head is too small, the hands are too big, or a combination of the two. the figure looks all out of proportion, though it could be from the way the pictures are taken.

ruskiiVFaussie Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Now all we need is a proper comparison pic for the new Mini's and the original Eva line...
ruskiiVFaussie Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) You guys, the Eva-05 Weapon version is coming back in stock. Snap them up before they are vamooshed again. http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?range=descrip...p;GenreCode=All let me know if this link doesn't work, it works for me fine though... <_> 3 Eva-05s (1 weapon and 2 wing versions) is way enough for me... But the weapon version is very nice. Especially for the lance! Edited August 14, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie

This one looks like it still has the fugly purple gloss paint and thick detail lines on the face.
ruskiiVFaussie Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 (edited) But it's sooo cheap... sad that hlj.com have the weapon sets just as expensive as the Eva figures themselves lol. Edited August 14, 2007 by ruskiiVFaussie

sidearmsalpha Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Sorry to get off topic, but in the pics below from the Wonder Festival show at this site, does anyone have info on these figures? They look like Takara Microman figures, but I'm not sure. http://ga.sbcr.jp/mreport/007399/55.html http://ga.sbcr.jp/mreport/007399/56.html http://ga.sbcr.jp/mreport/007399/61.html http://ga.sbcr.jp/mreport/007399/57.html
ShadowerV2 Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 They are from a line called Assemble Borg by Kaiyodo. They use revoltech joints throughtout the body.
Macross73 Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 you can provide a link to the info for the assemble borg Thanks in advance
ShadowerV2 Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Here. This should help. http://www.figures.com/databases/action.cg...show_article=29
Necron_99 Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 They are from a line called Assemble Borg by Kaiyodo. They use revoltech joints throughtout the body. As in the Borg from Star Trek?
Mr March Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 That Blue Kai version of the Unit 00 looks REALLY damn cool, and I don't even like NGE! The mecha fan in me might pick one up when it comes time to order my Revoltech VF-1J
Vermillion21 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 There's a lot of cool Revoltech stuff coming soon ... my poor wallet!!
ShadowerV2 Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) As in the Borg from Star Trek? The borg probably comes from the word cyborg or something. You have to ask Kaiyodo or read the link for that one. Edited August 17, 2007 by ShadowerV2
Mr March Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 The articulation is so great and dynamic, I sometimes find myself enjoying the poses that can be accomplished more than the mecha designs themselves. Some of the Revoltechs looks so great, I want to buy some of the mecha from shows I've never seen or even outright dislike! Now that's addictive!
the white drew carey Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I hadn't purchased a toy for years, now in less than 2 months I have Alphonse, Zeroshiki, and Unit 2 is on it's way. I can't wait for the new Patlabor stuff and the Macross stuff. Awesome.
Macross73 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Hyper Hobby is making a variant Shin Getter http://www.collectiondx.com/node/1783
Veritas Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 (edited) Hyper Hobby is making a variant Shin Getter http://www.collectiondx.com/node/1783 NO! more variants. Argh. Why couldn't it be like a pink variant with polka dots... that would be alot easier to pass on. Edited September 1, 2007 by Veritas
Mowe Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 That Shin Variant is quite a nice colour scheme....but year, how many more variant can we take....
GobotFool Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I want to buy some of the mecha from shows I've never seen or even outright dislike! Now that's addictive! A bad mecha show has never deterred me from buying a great mecha toy I'm here for the art of the mecha, the plot in mecha shows always has been a secondary thing for me
Mr March Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 (edited) I'd be lying if I said my fondness for the show itself doesn't play a significant role in my enjoyment of the mecha. I've actually disliked the design of a mecha before watching the show only to fall in love with the mecha when I become a fan of the show. I hated the Bebop designs before I watched the show, now they are one of my favorite set of ship designs But in the case of Kaiyodo's Revoltech figures, you don't even need to know anything about the shows at all to appreciate the mecha. For example, I know nothing about Getter Robo G or Shin Getter Robo stuff and the designs are very retro-super robot (a genre which I've never liked). But the figures are so cool I find myself admiring the mecha too. I could see myself impulse buying one of those figures if I happened to see them in a hobby shop here in Tdot. Or, in some cases I love the mecha, but didn't like the show. I've always adored the Evangelion mecha designs but disliked the anime. I can see myself purchasing an EVA soon Edited September 1, 2007 by Mr March
Steve68 Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Another pic.. When is that coming out? The shotgun looks really good. Steve
ruskiiVFaussie Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 got a heads up that the Asuka Revoltech could be out in January...
Mowe Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Yea!!! More Auska & Rei!!!! By the way, have you guys seen the Volks Rei and Auska? the sculpt is really nice and they are approx 210mm high, very nice size. The joint system is very similar to revoltech, but they complicated the ball joint locking mechanism a little, so it is not as robust as the revoltech. Nevertheless, they are a must have if you are a die-hard Eva fan. got a heads up that the Asuka Revoltech could be out in January...
