Angel's Fury Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 Here's some engrish I found on my Bandai 1:100 L-Gaim: Despite of the type-o, where did you get that toy? (curious enough to buy if such toy is still in circulation) Quote
Omni Existence Posted September 20, 2003 Posted September 20, 2003 ROFTLMAO!!!! That one has got to be the funniest one I've seen! Quote
Nightbat Posted September 21, 2003 Posted September 21, 2003 That add is just, well,.... it reminds me of a scene in Cannonball Run, where the Sheik pulls into a drive-in "....and 2 Milk" Quote
Agent ONE Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 Thats not "engrish" thats just Texas. Quote

bsu legato Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 That b*tch better not be offering her 'juice' to my boyfriend!!! Has this been a problem for you in the past? Is there something you want to share with the rest of the class? Quote

Noriko Takaya Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 (edited) It's a little off topic, I know, but please let everyone get a look at this. While reading my new copy of NewType USA, and glaring at the Japanese girls like I normally do, I caught something out of the corner of my eye which intrigued me. A girl wearing a shirt which has a rather foul word on it. Just look at the image. I've also noticed that this seems to be a trend. Do Japanese clothing companies have any idea what they are printing on their shirts? I find this kind of humorous, to say the least. As proof, I'll include another image of another girl wearing a shirt with an expletive on it. Mind you, I'm not being prudish. I just find this as funny as Japanese Engrish. Vostok 7 Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 LOL Akanie has been befouled!! This cannot be!!! Vostok 7 Quote
Abombz!! Posted September 24, 2003 Posted September 24, 2003 (edited) What? You wonder why we have the Japanese-engrish thread? B) Its not that they don't know... its just that they simply don't care. Just like a few American clothing companies print random chinese characters on sweatshirts and stuff. The problem is... english is a little easier to recognize then kanji. Edited September 24, 2003 by Abombz!! Quote

At least you can take off a shirt, imagine getting a tatoo that announced the miniscule size of certain parts... Quote

areaseven Posted October 10, 2003 Author Posted October 10, 2003 If you picked up the fansub of the Sailor Moon J-Drama, you'll see that the fansubbers also took the time to translate subliminal messages of the commercials... I always knew Hello Kitty was evil, but damn! Ronald McDonald shows his true colors. Quote
Agent ONE Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 You think that's offensive? You probably haven't read this one yet. That shirt is awesome. Uh, no its not! Well the ENGRISH aspect of the shirt is funny. Not making fun on gay people. Quote
Lynx7725 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Every time I see this pic, I had to fight the urge to laugh. The inside joke to this which some of you may not realise is that the kanji, when taken in Chinese, can be translated as "abnormal". Thus, instead of "Emergency Cock", I was reading "Abnormal Cock"....... :D Quote
NERV Posted October 18, 2003 Posted October 18, 2003 and this one i found in my local asian market Quote
