valkyrie312 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) OK, so I didn't actually customize the Low Vis, but I did match up some Strike Parts for it! Let me know what you think. This was my first attempt at weathering anything and I did it by hand with a charcoal pencil and lots of time. It turned out OK for the 1st try, I think. Here are some Gerwalk pics (since they were requested). Fighter pics have been added towards the bottom of the page. Gerwalk Mode: Thanks for the feedback and compliments! promethuem5 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Nice. For charcoal pencil work, they look very nice. The only thing I would do is take a darker grey paint and darken the panel lines to amtch the valk itself. Otherwise, it's a good simple match. Quote
connor99 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Very nice work, VALKYRIE312! Did you use krylon on these FP's by any chance? Just curious . Quote
buddhafabio Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 it looks great but it needs more weathering the fp look too new still like they only been on valk for a flight or 2 Quote

Guppy Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 makes a great match! if you try a light dry brushing with black paint around the edges such as the holes where the engine nacelles stick through that would look good I reckon. Just do a Google on 'dry brushing' for tips on how to do it well. Quote
buddhafabio Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 i was also thinking silver flecks here and there to indicate space debris hitting them. or trying to match the smudges of the valk. Quote
Fortress_Maximus Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I like it. Any chance of seeing it in plane mode? Quote
1 VF-1 2NV Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 NIce. Like FM has said, I'd like to see all 3 modes. Quote
valkyrie312 Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Here are some fighter mode pics. (I couldn't get them all in the original post.) Quote
Veritas Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 For a first time customt that looks pretty damn hot. Nice color choice on the fast packs. Quote
jardann Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Lookin' good! I have to agree with everyone else, it's a good job. I really like the color of the fast packs. Mind letting us know what you used? The charcoal pencil weathering looks different and I like it too. I think a nice wash with a dark grey(almost black) would really bring out the panel lines and finish this baby off! Quote

I used Testors "Navy Agressor Grey" for the FP color. Now I just need to learn how to do a "wash." If anyone can give me instructions, I would very much appreciate it. Quote
mojacko Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 (edited) nice work on 1st try...but i think it still neat n clean for a weathered type fast pack'n booster....try dry brushing technique .... Edited March 11, 2006 by mojacko Quote
Witchblade Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Very nicely done! Those colors are a great match. Quote
Toonz Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 where's that gunpod in the fighter mode? oh......pretty beautiful........ Quote
valkyrie312 Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 (edited) The gunpod is not on there (cause I didn't want to scratch the paint). I didn't forget it! *Edit - Spelling* Edited March 11, 2006 by valkyrie312 Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 (edited) Looks good. I think it would be good if you gave it a bit of a dirtier, weathered, "star wars OT" look to it though like it has been through some fights. Edited March 12, 2006 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker Quote
kanata67 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 nice, very nice. Dirty up the insides of the f/p boosters a little though... Quote
