port Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I'm on vacation this week so I really wanted to finish him up. I knocked alot out today. I think before I go any further I'm going to start weathing. Quote
promethuem5 Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 Looks like a good base, but why did you make the light up parts green? I persoannly can't stand the way the light up parts look regardless of color, but I think that the green might actually clash with the rest of the colors of the MS worse than the gold.... Quote
port Posted March 7, 2006 Author Posted March 7, 2006 After I'm done weathering, that green will not be so harsh. You'll see. Quote
port Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 First thing. Sorry these pics stink. When I'm done I'll have some better shots. Quote
port Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Started on the wings or fins or what ever. I know they look real cool. Quote
port Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 When I started I was going to do the lights, thats why I did the frame in clear green. I thought the yellow looked gay. But the whole lighting system looks dumb! And I was not going back to redo it. So here it is. Quote
port Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 This sucker is done. All I have to do is the weapons. If the weathering is a bit much thats because I like it like that . As always I love to hear what you have to say. Thanks my friends. Quote
promethuem5 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Interesting take on the design... some better close ups would be nice though. I can't decide if I like the full weaterhing job on this one yet or not... Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Dude I heard this thing is more durable than the other 1/60 models and is toylike in terms of ruggedness and durability. Is that true? If so I might take a stab at getting it! Quote
doodler7 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Port! Nice Job! Would it be possible if you can have the Strike stand next to a perfect grade and take a snap shot...how about next to the MK II or the GP-01? I would like to get this model kit, but would like to see how it look next to perfect grades. Thanks! Quote
F360° Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 It's always nice to see your work, but I think you weather a bit too much on this one.. also is it the lighting or the camera that make the colors from your picture seem some what off. Quote
Hikuro Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 also, the weathering on the black for the wings makes it look almost glossy, so the camera throws it off as being such. Quote
port Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Dude I heard this thing is more durable than the other 1/60 models and is toylike in terms of ruggedness and durability. Is that true? If so I might take a stab at getting it! 378392[/snapback] Here you go bud. I really would not do any serious playing with this one. I don't play with any of my Gundams. About the the only thing I play hard with is my Robotech super pose. Yeah! I play with my toys! IS THERE A PROBLEM! Quote
doodler7 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Absolutely amazing...thank you for the photos, Dave! These are great! Man, that 178 is so "buff!" Great job! Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Nice pics, MK-II to Strike : I`ll show whats to be a real Gundam Quote
