promethuem5 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Yeah...whatever happened to that 1/60 Monster? Did they decide that it was simply too large to release whatsoever? Quote

Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 Whoa boys I also read somewhere that tokyo toy festival is occuring the SAME day as wonderfest!!! Perhaps they are over there as well? Quote
Veritas Posted February 19, 2006 Posted February 19, 2006 More Links to Wonderfestival stuff: http://toynewsi.com/news.php?itemid=8863&catid=228 Can't seem to find any macross pix though. Did Yamato not feature any of their upcoming macross releases (1/48 Stealth, Low Viz 2, GBP 2, hell even the 1/60 VF-0S)? Quote

Graham Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Yamato were supposed to show the Low Vis 2 & Stealth at Wonder Fest. Graham Quote
jenius Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I'm confused. Are you telling us that someone should be able to provide pics or are you saying that they must have changed their minds? Quote
Graham Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Last Friday I was told that Yamato would have the Stealth and Low Vis 2 on display at Wonder Fest as well as the recolor Macross stands and the VF-0S. I don't know if something changed between Friday and Sunday though. SaveRobotech was supposed to be going and taking pics. He hasn't posted in this thread yet. Hopefully he got some pics. but just hasn't had time to post them yet though. Graham Quote
Graham Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 If they weren't shown, or if nobody took pics, I'll see if I can at least get permission to describe them Graham Quote

jenius Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) So they're going to release a shiny metal version of the launch arm eh? Well I think the camo version looks like an easy custom someone made of a cannon fodder... which I guess is exactly what it is. Does the writing indicate that these will be Limited Versions? The stealth looks unfinished. What's up with those strike parts? Is this going to be the first valk that actually comes with strike parts?? Why do the strike cannon and missile tower look completely flat gray? No GBP shown. Does that mean the next GBP offering is just a reissue? WHY NO TV Max 1A?? They're going to put out these wierd one-offs and avoid official schemes? LAME. I would rather have had an Alaska Base green valk over the camo one Yeah, I'm buying them both, but they won't be getting much love in my display cases. Edited February 20, 2006 by jenius Quote
eugimon Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 hmmmm... I think i'll have to take a pass on these... Quote
kensei Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 You can see that the jungle camo valk has a CF as the base. That VF-1J isn't so bad though, but why am I not so excited about it? Quote
ghostryder Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 The stealth isn't so bad... not sure what else people were expecting. I think it's better than all black, but it would have been better if both fuselage halves were black. That low-vis would have been MUCH better if they would have done a sky/cloud blue-gray scheme . Quote
eugimon Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 perhaps fan feedback will be bad enough they'll go back to the drawing board like with the Vf-0.... Quote
recon Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) sighs the low vis looks kinda of yucky..while the stealth ver is quite acceptable but not outstanding in its choice of colors combo. And the stealth is a VF-1J Strike? Should be a VF-1S Strike instead Looks like the money would go to the ver 2 GPB or another piece of the 1/60 VF-0S Cheers Edited February 20, 2006 by recon Quote
ghostryder Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 perhaps fan feedback will be bad enough they'll go back to the drawing board like with the Vf-0.... 371786[/snapback] I hope.. how hard would it be to change to plastic color and get different paints? Yamato, give us a 1J or 1S head on that low-vis!!!! Quote
eriku Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 The stealth isn't too bad, but it's not interesting enough to make me even consider getting it. The camo valk is pretty much the worst looking valk deco I've seen yet, barring any customs of course (that pink re-deco Red Comet did of a Banpresto comes to mind). And a chrome launch arm? Whaaaaa? I didn't think Yamato was into the "chromed variant" BS that so many other toy companies subscribe to. Oh well, I can't let something like a couple crummy Yamato repaints get me down when there is something as yummy as the Motoko and Tachi on the horizen! Quote
valkyrie312 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I don't mind that VF-1J "Stealth" version, but I am really disappointed in the new "Low-Vis" scheme. Hopefully, these are just a trial run. If someone asked me if I would buy them, it would be VF-1J - yes, VF-1A no. Quote
BlueMax Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Personally, I'm ok with the1A "low Vis" one.... dun like the stealth 1J though. Dunno. maybe its just the photos not doing justice to the variants. KJ Quote
Sebastian Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Well... those are just horrible Valks. The paint job, paint schemes... all is just wrong and hugly. A 10 years old boy can brush paint a better cammo than that. And the "low Viz"... not very creative. For such expensive toy they should do MUCH better. Yamato wont sell much of those hugly things I guess. Quote
Sebastian Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 A Nikel Plated Launch Arm??? What is wrong with Yamato... Maybe next release will be a Gold Plated Valk. That will be just the worst ever. Quote
jenius Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Maybe next release will be a Gold Plated Valk. That will be just the worst ever. I don't like the bandai Mac7 toys but the metal plated ones are pretty fun. I know it's tacky but if Yamato did a super limited metal-plated (appearance-wise) valk I would totally buy it. Quote
eugimon Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 chrome plated VF-1 way better idea than the camo valk. Quote
Macross73 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) What the ... I just saw these and man i'm on the fence. On the one hand its a new valk to have but on the other hand the paint jobs aren't working for me. I'll probably still get them but i hope they improve significantly before they go on the market. yeah chrome would have been better but i wanted a sky/cloud scheme low viz Edited February 20, 2006 by Macross73 Quote
