Less than Super Ostrich Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 (edited) awesome! I may do the VF-4 recast or the SDF-1 Cruiser Mode. But the real question is... "WHAT WILL WM CHENG ENTER?!?" p.s. Go Cubbies... beat the Braves! Edited October 1, 2003 by Less than Super Ostrich Quote
Grayson72 Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Maybe I'll enter my 1/72 defender, I could do the VF-1A that I completed a while ago too, what you guys think, which one? Quote
cwmodels Posted October 1, 2003 Author Posted October 1, 2003 Well... there is no way to get people to send in their actual model kits for judging. Uploading pics is the best we could do for an online contest. Besides, the main goal for the contest is to help promote model building as a hobby and have a little fun (which is why the rules are kept simple). The prizes and winning in my opinion is only secondary. In a way this is only a "warm-up contest". Hobbyfan told me that if the Christmas contest is successful, they will be sponsoring more contest and events in the future. Quote
Grayson72 Posted October 2, 2003 Posted October 2, 2003 It's gonna make things difficult not allowing people to upload images directly to the server. Quote
cwmodels Posted October 2, 2003 Author Posted October 2, 2003 It's actually a lot easier than you think. You CAN upload the pictures directly from your computer. Just follow the instruction given to you after your contest registration and you will have no problem doing so. Quote

Myersjessee Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Hmm...Im getting a DEBUG mode error from the forum when I go there... Quote
MacrossX Posted November 29, 2003 Posted November 29, 2003 I think you have to log onto the site and find the polling page instead of just clicking on the above link. According to the current results, Macross models are not too popular, but Eva and Gundam models are. Quote
cwmodels Posted November 29, 2003 Author Posted November 29, 2003 Not sure about the error. I contacted the person in charge, and he told me that could not find any problems so far. I'm guessingit could be browser related? I personally have problem viewing or posting to the board whenever I go through AOL. browser. You can try going to the main forum here. You'll find the polls in the Current Contest section. http://www.hobbyfanatics.com/modules.php?name=Forums Quote
Grayson72 Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 The links work, they took me right to the correct place to vote and see results afterwards. Thanks to whoever voted for me Quote
cwmodels Posted December 4, 2003 Author Posted December 4, 2003 All the winners are announced for the Christmas Modeling Contest. Please go here to see them: http://community.hobbyfan.com/modules.php?...=viewforum&f=33 Congratulations! Quote
wm cheng Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 I know its been said before, but I just wanted to add my sincere thanks and congratulations on an excellent effort by all. Its truely inspiring to see all the fellow modellers out there regardless of skill level. I was quite worried a few years back seeing all the local "brick & mortar" hobby shops close up. It seemed to me that this hobby was rapidly dying or at least on a decline next to the Playstation generation. Especially this small niche of modelling - so kudos to all who participated, don't sniff too much glue, and ventilate... ventilate... ventilate!!! Special thanks goes out to the organizers of this contest, community board (especially out-reaching to MacrossWorld, thanks cwmodels ), judges and HobbyFan (sorry if I missed you, but I don't know about the inner workings of this site). I realize no one had to do this, and I don't think a lot of extra monetary business was created - but for a sincere love of the hobby and promoting awareness - for that self-less cuase, I salute you. JRock Posted December 6, 2003 Posted December 6, 2003 Is it possible to still look at the entries and the winners? Quote
