Chindenathus Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Damn! When is this one being released? The calendar I have seen said May 19'th. So far all I have seen is a bunch of magazine reviews. Quote
LtStick Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 According to informations posted over at Twin Moons its supposed to be released around June 10th. Check here for details. Quote
Hikuro Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Yeah more places are stating a June release now, looks like Yamato pushed it back just a snag. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 The weathering looks great. And the hands and feet look detailed. Will definately be getting one of these. Quote
Cacophanus Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Yamato's official blurb says May 31st. http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=880 Quote
eugimon Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 I don't think twin moons has ran my card yet for my pre-order so it's probably a month out still. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 I don't think twin moons has ran my card yet for my pre-order so it's probably a month out still. 403401 Mine either.....BOLLOCKS! I just watched MZ23 Part I and II over the long weekend since I was so jazzed about all the new pics. I want my Garland yesterday! Quote

Lonely Soldier Boy Posted May 30, 2006 Posted May 30, 2006 (edited) This has been a long wait for me, since I have mine on preorder along with my VF-0. AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!! Oh, well, I've waited 20 years, I guess I can wait a few more weeks. Edit: I just noticed Shogo's Cowboy legs, oh well. Edited May 30, 2006 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote
promethuem5 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Ah crap, I might need one... wait, who want's there's detailed up so I can get a chance to handle one? Quote

1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Very cool. Thanks for that. Can't wait to hear impressions of the toy. Quote
Fort Max Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I don't need to hear mpressions, I just want to hear those magic words telling me my orders been shipped... Quote
eugimon Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I'm not anywhere near as impatient for the garland as I was for the VF-0 but I'm getting there. Quote
T0t0r0 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Here's something to ponder while we wait. A scan fromt he January 1986 Hobby Japan: Quote
Sebastian Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Wooow... that Garland looks Awful compared with the Yamato, anyways for a 80's toy that was a dream toy. The hands look nice BTW. Quote
rnurmin Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 If I'm not wrong, I remembered that there were two companies trying to release the Garland (from pictures of last year's wonderfest). One of them is Yamato and I could not remember the other company's name. Wonder how the other company will release their Garland. By the way, thanks for the links to the 1986 Hobby Japan. It gives me a good idea to customize Yamato's Garland hand by using Gundam marker Quote
Hikuro Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 It is definetelly out. I don't see where that site says it's out.... Quote

I don't see where that site says it's out.... 404204 It doesn't say that but people are posting lots of pictures so it's pretty safe to assume that Yamato have let it loose. From toyboxDX, http://www.toysdaily.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=42294 http://www.toysdaily.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=42300 If I'm not wrong, I remembered that there were two companies trying to release the Garland (from pictures of last year's wonderfest). Wonder how the other company will release their Garland. 404197 The other company is Max Factory, since they didn't attend Shizouka (owing to them not being a model company) no ones seen what stage they're up to with it but it was supposed to be coming this summer. Belived to be their first transfoming gokin figure no less. Edited May 31, 2006 by Fort Max Quote
rnurmin Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Thank you Fort Max. Those links are amazing. I love the so-called Gerwalk mode of Garland Quote
Hikuro Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Looks like the piece of armor that should be facing Shogo in Robot form is a look out window.......so it's better then having his face stuck out there I guess. The second link from Toysdaily has some great pictures. It almost looks like you could do a transformation without having to use support of some sorts to keep it balanced. I'd almost pay a lil extra for someone to go, give it a nice shiny paint job with some weathering to it so to make look more authentic. Quote

I keep telling you guys! I want to check one of these out, but don't really wanna buy one myself, but weathering one up looks like it'd be aloooot of fun! Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 (edited) Looks like the wheel-shoulders attach to the body with magnets. I hope they're strong enough to hold the arms in place! Edited June 1, 2006 by Lonely Soldier Boy Quote

1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 The hands look nice. I wonder why they made one finger fixed pose though? Wouldn't it have been better to let it curl up to make a fist? Quote
Hikuro Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Huh interesting, I didn't notice that till now.....that's odd. And I would think the magnets would be pretty strong compared to something like *cough* toynami *cough*..........afterall I haven't had really much of any issues with the fast leg packs on my VF-0S and they use magnets.......they slide with rough contact, but that's about it. It probably would of been better if the shoulders/tires could lock into place instead honestly..... Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Apparently those two magnets also hold the legs in bike mode (check out the inner side of the legs in slave mode). Looks like Yamato really fell in love with the magnets idea. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I'm venturing on a guess that Yamato will milk this thing with various color schemes. I would like to see an urban low vis of this. ENIGMA SCHEME!!! (Where's the WOOT! emoticon??) Quote
JELEINEN Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Does anyone know if the front tires roll? They don't look like they do to me. Quote
Guppy Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 hobbylink Japan is listing it as "in stock" - that's pretty official to me! Quote
