SuperHobo Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Does anyone know if the Proto Garland is out yet? Not yet. The proto Garland won't be out until probably February if I'm not mistaken. HLJ still has it for a January release, but then again that could be subject to change. Quote

I hope they combine the shipping with whatever will be released in februari. (I have something on pre-order for every month up untill may ) Quote

eriku Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Yes and lets see if Revy Revoltech can fit in there guys ok? If so i'll bite. She can't fit inside in slave mode, but she looks awesome riding it. I actually had her on it before Shogo. Quote
Dante74 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 HLJ is getting my Proto Garland ready for shipping. Woot! Quote
ShadowerV2 Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Come on Yamato! Please make an E=X Garland! Please!! Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 She can't fit inside in slave mode, but she looks awesome riding it. I actually had her on it before Shogo. Ahh damn. Mate thankyou so much for confirming. So what couldn't fit in? Her hair was it? Too long of legs? Quote
eriku Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Ahh damn. Mate thankyou so much for confirming. So what couldn't fit in? Her hair was it? Too long of legs? To be fair even Shogo has a hell of a time fitting in there. I actually couldn't get him in there, but I've seen photos so I know it's possible. As for Revy, she's too much woman to cram into such a cramped space. Quote
danth Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hey guys, I gots a question to axe you all: Is there any way to get the original red Garland with without broken shoulders? It's my favorite version, so I'd rather get it than the brownie or the Proto Garland. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 As far as I know it hasn't been reissued yet, but you can get it and ask Yamato USA for new shoulders. I did that and the replacements got here in no time. Or you can buy the pricey collector's edition that includes a red Garland with fancy metallic paint job, the movies, soundtrack CD and art book, tho' I'm not sure that one has the improved shoulders. Yamato sends them very quickly and they're easy to install, all you need is a screwdriver. Quote

Dante74 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Received HLJ's shipping notice for my Protogarland!!!!! Mine's already on a plane somewhere between Japan and Europe. But knowing Dutch customs you'll have a lot sooner than me. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Mine's already on a plane somewhere between Japan and Europe. But knowing Dutch customs you'll have a lot sooner than me. The worst case scenario is when the item arrives in 4-5 days and then it takes forever to clear customs Quote
whitestar Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 As LSB said, just buy one and email YamatoUSA asking for shoulders. Yamato sends them very quickly and they're easy to install, all you need is a screwdriver. Hi, I just wanted to pipe in and give credit to Yamato USA for sending me the replacement parts for the broken shoulder on the Garland. I sent an email yesterday afternoon around 1pm (see below) and received my replacement in the mail just this morning! Needless to stay I was very surprised and very much pleased at the response time. Incidentally, the Yamato USA office is in Torrance, CA and I live in Oceanside, CA. The proximity might explain for the speedy response, but I am nonetheless very impressed by their responsiveness. "Hi, I was told to email Yamato USA for a problem I have had with one of your products. The left shoulder assembly of my Megazone 23 Garland (original color) became brittle and came apart after only two transformations. Can you provide a replacement shoulder to the address below? Thanks so much for your assistance." Quote
Dante74 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I'll be picking my Proto Garland up at the post office tomorrow. In the meantime, here's a review with lots of pics. (Japanese site) Quote
Vermillion21 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Proto Garland looks sweet. I love the weapons!!! Quote
Hikuro Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Yeah too bad the photos showed stress marks in the usual place. That sucks ass. Quote

(Japanese site) I guess the Dutch customs delivered faster than the Argentina customs You'll have it sooner than me!!!!! Be sure to post nice pictures!! Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I just noticed. Seems like the Proto holds the arms without magnets in bike mode this time, which means no more broken back syndrome! I wonder if I can mod my other two Garlands to fix that problem. It's been bugging me since I first got my red one. Quote
Dante74 Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 I guess the Dutch customs delivered faster than the Argentina customs You'll have it sooner than me!!!!! Be sure to post nice pictures!! Yay, I win! Yeah, it only took them 5 days to clear it which is faster than usual. I'm looking at it right now. It's actually a little bigger than I expected. I'll take some pics tomorrow. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Congrats, dude! Hey, can you confirm the arms are stored without the use of magnets to attach to the bike's main body? Thanks in advance. Quote
Dante74 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Congrats, dude! Hey, can you confirm the arms are stored without the use of magnets to attach to the bike's main body? Thanks in advance. The arms use magnets to stay attached in slave and in bike mode. There's also magnets (number 2 in pic) in the hands to lock those together in bike mode as indicated in this pic. In bike mode you lock the front end of the bike to the rear end using a small piece of plastic like in the pic below. You'll see the magnet to secure the arms in slave mode on the lower right in the pic below. The The part circled in the pic below is made of die-cast so that might be paint chipping in this pic. promethuem5 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Damn the Proto is nice looking, but pretty expensive... I should pick one up tho. Quote
Dante74 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Here's some pics. Comparison shots with a 1/48 CF and a Revoltech. Quote
SuperHobo Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Here's some pics. Comparison shots with a 1/48 CF and a Revoltech. Looks sweet I'm glad I pre-ordered from LOS! Btw Dante how's the shoulders? Is the QC pretty good on yours? Quote
Dante74 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 I don't have the original Garland so I wouldn't know what to compare it with. The design of the shoulder looks very fragile but the part that gets the most stress is made of die-cast so I dont foresee any major problems there. Quote
Vermillion21 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Thanks for posting the pics - the proto Garland does look sweet. Tempting .... Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Yep thanks for the pics. Good to hear no shoulder problems. *prays this translates into no hip breakage or shoulder breakage for vf-11 if it ever comes out* Quote
EXO Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Looks good, but those colors are hideous. I know it's like that in the anime, but I guess I'll wait for a variant or something. Details are incredible though. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Love the covers on the back of the leg and how they flip out. When is yamato going to make some bubblegum crisis 2032 mecha like the k12, and that thing priss used which transformed her bike into a aliens-style power loader? Do they have the license? Quote
