Heh sounds like a bootleg toyline of the A team.

I think it'd be better if LEGO just gets Kawamori to design an all new set rather than a concoction of 2 existing sets. That way they can implement the necesary bricks to make it more stable.

And that YF21 on brickshelf that someone linked is AWESOME.

I bought the exo-force sets before I knew they were the Kawamori 2-in one and yeah, Kawamori does great design work but he needs serious help on stability issues. Think I'll just leave the models by themselves. I like the look of the white mech's 'alternate mode' but unless lego provides full instructions for the alternates in the box or fully available online (not in the 3 step version that is on the site right now) I don't see any reason to draw special attention to the 'alternate modes' on the box. Lego's been putting those 'look what else you can build' on their models for years, what's different? For anyone that wants the white mech's alternate mode instructions, a guy put this together. Haven't found any online for the other mechs tho...

To Shoji's credit, the mechanics of the VAN Force Lego thingy look interesting. I was going to toy around with this (no pun intended) on the weekend to see what additional pieces would be needed to make a sturdy variable Lego set. Even the set that you build from he 7700 box alone is close to being a variable model.

I've also bought the two kits about to construct the "van force".

is not easy, you have to guess a lot of instruction, but , finally i've succed into construct and tranform it (without glue).

The only thing is to take the arms off when you want to transform it. and put them back at the end.

there is some atatchement points like for a VF-1 or the aquarion ...

i'll make some improvement adding some pieces :)

And I thought the Lego second death star was drop-dead impressive.

Might be worth a stop by the Lego store on the way to Games Workshop...

And about Galactica: The new or the old? Seeing the classic battlestar in Lego would be t3h w1n... seeing as I built a Lego battlestar when I was around eight.......and it's still intact to this day somewhere in my room years later.

Interesting about the Macross reference with the pilot of the white mech...

But does anyone else see the obvious Warhammer 40K Titan influence in that red one. It isn't so much a reference as a scaled down copy.

Pretty interesting. I wonder if we will ever see these licensed for sale in the USA. One can hope. :D

The Exo-Force sets are already out in the US. If you mean the Kawamori design, it's just a set of instructions that were published in a magazine using two of the EF sets.

Told you guys that the Max clone also had a Battroid print on its torso. Not evne subtle at all. What I wonder is if kawamori commented on it when he opened the boxes of the two sets to make his design.

If my son were a couple of years older, I probably buy some of these sets, so we could play with them together, as they look pretty cool. At two and a half, he's still a bit young though.
