Metal_Massacre_79 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I pity the fool who buys these sets for this! Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 Heh sounds like a bootleg toyline of the A team. I think it'd be better if LEGO just gets Kawamori to design an all new set rather than a concoction of 2 existing sets. That way they can implement the necesary bricks to make it more stable. And that YF21 on brickshelf that someone linked is AWESOME. Quote
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 That was me. I thought you guys and gals would like that one. I didn't make it, I just linked it. Quote
uminoken Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 I bought the exo-force sets before I knew they were the Kawamori 2-in one and yeah, Kawamori does great design work but he needs serious help on stability issues. Think I'll just leave the models by themselves. I like the look of the white mech's 'alternate mode' but unless lego provides full instructions for the alternates in the box or fully available online (not in the 3 step version that is on the site right now) I don't see any reason to draw special attention to the 'alternate modes' on the box. Lego's been putting those 'look what else you can build' on their models for years, what's different? For anyone that wants the white mech's alternate mode instructions, a guy put this together. Haven't found any online for the other mechs tho... Stealth Wasp Instructions Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 oooo, both that kawamori lego set and batman sets look cool! I might pick those up! Quote
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 To Shoji's credit, the mechanics of the VAN Force Lego thingy look interesting. I was going to toy around with this (no pun intended) on the weekend to see what additional pieces would be needed to make a sturdy variable Lego set. Even the set that you build from he 7700 box alone is close to being a variable model. Quote
isamu_dyson Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 (edited) I've also bought the two kits about to construct the "van force". is not easy, you have to guess a lot of instruction, but , finally i've succed into construct and tranform it (without glue). The only thing is to take the arms off when you want to transform it. and put them back at the end. there is some atatchement points like for a VF-1 or the aquarion ... i'll make some improvement adding some pieces Edit: images 7700: http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF1.JPG 7700 & 7701 : http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF2.JPG Combo: http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF3.JPG Van force vehicule mode: http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF4.JPG "gerwalk" mode : http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF5.JPG Robot mode: http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF6.JPG alternative head: http://isamu_dyson_fr.club.fr/VF7.JPG Edited January 24, 2006 by isamu_dyson Quote
isamu_dyson Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Look at the torso of this figure : dosn't it reminds you something ??? Quote
Ghadrack Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 I was looking through my latest Lego catalog and it has a picture of that little guy and his mech, his name is Hikaru in their new Lego line up. Quote
isamu_dyson Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Yep , it's hikaru, but his torso reminds me the VF-1A max type lol Quote
Knight26 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Look at the torso of this figure : dosn't it reminds you something ??? 363666 It's max cosplaying as a valkyrie Quote
Boxer Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 And I thought the Lego second death star was drop-dead impressive. Might be worth a stop by the Lego store on the way to Games Workshop... And about Galactica: The new or the old? Seeing the classic battlestar in Lego would be t3h w1n... seeing as I built a Lego battlestar when I was around eight.......and it's still intact to this day somewhere in my room years later. Quote
Phyrox Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Interesting about the Macross reference with the pilot of the white mech... But does anyone else see the obvious Warhammer 40K Titan influence in that red one. It isn't so much a reference as a scaled down copy. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 (edited) I won`t be surprised if there`s gonna be an official Macross Lego. Edited January 24, 2006 by Black Valkyrie Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 That Lego figure has a Hikaru hair style. Quote
Fortress_Maximus Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Pretty interesting. I wonder if we will ever see these licensed for sale in the USA. One can hope. Quote
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Macross? In the US?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I wish... Quote
Metal_Massacre_79 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Man that Lego figure looks pissed! 363771 You should see the other side of the head. It's even more pissed. Teeth showing and all. Quote
JELEINEN Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Pretty interesting. I wonder if we will ever see these licensed for sale in the USA. One can hope. 363731 The Exo-Force sets are already out in the US. If you mean the Kawamori design, it's just a set of instructions that were published in a magazine using two of the EF sets. Quote
promethuem5 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Told you guys that the Max clone also had a Battroid print on its torso. Not evne subtle at all. What I wonder is if kawamori commented on it when he opened the boxes of the two sets to make his design. Quote

uminoken Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 So what does this new model remind you of......... Quote
Project Phoenix Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Harvey Birdman, Attorney-at-law. Just kidding! Quote
Graham Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 If my son were a couple of years older, I probably buy some of these sets, so we could play with them together, as they look pretty cool. At two and a half, he's still a bit young though. Graham Quote
