DYRL DVD problems

Ok, so none of the menu options works except the middle "play" one...which I wouldn't mind so much if it did't say "cannot read disk" once I get to the scenes on the raised protoculture city.

When I bought it it said it was region free...but damn this sucks.

I can't understand why the menu doesn't work...but I am really pissed that I only get a little over 1/2 the movie (if that).

What am I doing wrong here.

try fast forwarding before the very scene where it was stuck and after you skip the scene play as normal. It may work or try playing using another player.

Are you using this disc on a PS2? If you are, that's your problem. The PS2 is notorious for the "cannot read disc" message.

It is region free, or else you wouldn't be able to play any of it at all. Most likely the DVD has a burn error or there's a problem with your DVD player. Why not try to return the DVD first?

God damn that POS PS2!!!

I have never had any problems with DVDs before (except for Mospeada disc 4 skipping...)

So I guess I will have to try it on another DVD player somehow.

-it isn't a "skip" problem that FF would help. It is a black screen with "Disc error: cannot read disc." If I try to jump to any chapter after 20 I get the same response.

Thats odd. My FX DYRL plays better in my PS2 than in my regular DVD player.
