GMANIFESS Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 did you panel line your red lion Oh yeah. One of the first things out the box after i found a #2 decal. I used grey & black, utlra-fine gundam marker. i felt the need to bring out the few details it had on it, because sometimes being anime-accurate isn't all that great.... Quote
Hikuro Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 So here's a question, I see th at Trendmasters I think it is, re-releasing the 1997 eidition of Voltron....so much chrome and diecast. Is it worth the bookoobucks or should I invest perhaps in the Matel edition? Quote
myk Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Trendmasters is reissuing their '97 version of Voltron? Quote
GMANIFESS Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Re-issue?? Definately need more info on that. Quote
myk Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I remember those Trendmaster sets on clearance for like $20 each back in the day... Quote
southpaw Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 what was the original price of the trendmasters when it first came out? Quote
GMANIFESS Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Anyone pick up the new comic? i've been reading them, haven't read the latest yet... i have no idea where they are going with this origin story... Quote
Old_Nash Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 For it seems incredible. I did know about the new animated series... I only know that yesterday, while I reseaching the opening of Vehicle Voltron. Quote

Is it worth the bookoobucks or should I invest perhaps in the Matel edition? Mine's for sale, especially if they're going for beaucoup bucks... Quote
Hikuro Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TRM10013&mode=retail here it is, 140 dollars. Been thinking about it but I dunno anything about this set at all. My voltron when i was a kid was some diecast solid figure. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Looks exactly like mine. And I'd sell for a lot less than that. ::edit:: Actually, I'm betting that pic actually is of the late 90's set. Quote
RD Blade Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 http://www.bigbadtoy...013&mode=retail here it is, 140 dollars. Been thinking about it but I dunno anything about this set at all. My voltron when i was a kid was some diecast solid figure. Isn't that the same one? Looks identical to the 80's toy. Just don't know how much die cast, if any. Quote
myk Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 what was the original price of the trendmasters when it first came out? I'm remembering anywhere from $50 to $70 dollars. Again, I remember them at clearance for as low as $20. I picked up 5 of them LOL. Now, if I could just FIND them... Quote
GMANIFESS Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Does any other online store have this up for preorder? Joel is a good dude, but i could have sworn BBTS has had a lot of old restock items labeled "PREORDER".... only to get cancelled if they can't find an old supply & get it back in stock. It says 1997, not reissue. Quote
Hikuro Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Maybe they had a reissue back in 1997 with some changes? Was Voltron 3D back in that era? Isn't that the same one? Looks identical to the 80's toy. Just don't know how much die cast, if any. Not mine. It was one solid figure, you couldn't seperate the limbs to form the lion. Tried too once, broke green lion for it. My mom threw it in the trash soon after. Maaaaaannnn awesome bath times with that toy till it was to late. Quote
RD Blade Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Not mine. It was one solid figure, you couldn't seperate the limbs to form the lion. Yes! I remember that one too. The hands could shoot off, elbows could not bend, and it stood about 8" tall? My kid brother had it. Quote
eriku Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 That Trendmasters Voltron isn't a new reissue, BBTS just got ahold of a bunch of stock somewhere. Trendmasters no longer holds a license for Voltron. Quote
Ahab Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 Pre-ordered the new Miracle Vehicle Voltron yesterday...I'll finally get my mitts on a large scale Diarugger! Quote
Vermillion One Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 What happened to the BBTS preorder for Vehicle Voltron? I can't find it any where on the site... Quote
VF1A-FAN Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 What happened to the BBTS preorder for Vehicle Voltron? I can't find it any where on the site... I preordered this from BBTS after FREAKIN' Toy Freakz cancelled my order a day after confirming it! Now, this message from BBTS got me totally pissed: Hi - Today we received the following information from IPAssure Brand Protection Services LLC - a law firm who works with companies who own Intellectual Property rights. (Begin Quote) I represent Classic Media LLC and its affiliated companies (hereinafter "Classic Media") with respect to certain intellectual property enforcement matters. Classic Media is the owner of numerous trademarks and copyrights related to its business. In addition, Classic Media has the right to manage and license the VOLTRON intellectual property, and also has the right to conduct enforcement efforts on behalf of the owners of the VOLTRON intellectual property. It has recently come to my client's attention that you are offering a VOLTRON Vehicle for pre-order sale, which is unlicensed given that Miracle Productions no longer has the right to manufacture products relating to VOLTRON. As such, my client demands that you immediately cease taking pre-orders for this product and remove the listing from www.bigbadtoystore.com Please confirm by return email that you have removed the listing. Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me by email or at the phone number listed below. Thank you, in advance, for your cooperation. The demands made herein are made without prejudice to my client's rights and claims, all of which are expressly reserved herein. (End Quote) Sadly, we will be removing this item from our site and cancelling all preorders. We do not wish to engage in any legal wrangling with Classic Media LLC or IP Assure. I offered to attempt to obtain an license so we could bring these in an officially licensed fashion, but IP Assure was not interested in pursuing. Again - sorry for the bad news on this item - it is out of our control and we would most certainly be sued if we continued down this path. Quote
valkyrie312 Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I saw all the legalese regarding the new Voltron/Dairugger figure. Does anyone know if these will still be available to import (from HLJ or another good Asian retailer)? Any input from our overseas brethren? Quote
RD Blade Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 I think the toy was listed under the name "Voltron". If so, that's probably what got the attention of the bean counters. They should've just named him "Vehicle Robot Dude With a Vengeance". Quote
Hiriyu Posted March 31, 2012 Posted March 31, 2012 Dammit dammit dammit. Was lined up for this one. I hope for a late-game save of some kind, but am not optimistic. Dammit. Quote
valkyrie312 Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Update from collectiondx said that the company (Miracle Productions) is still producing the toys, but they can't be imported and sold by an American company (like BBTS). Now the trick is going to be finding a good overseas dealer so I can get one of these. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears. Quote
Ahab Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 (edited) How is Toy Freakz handling this development? I've yet to receive a cancellation notice. Has anyone else, who ordered with TF, received any info from them? Edited April 1, 2012 by Ahab Quote

They should've just named him "Vehicle Robot Dude With a Vengeance". That was my thought---if it said "Chogokin Dairugger XV" I'd guess 99% of licensing lawyers would never have found it. Quote

They just can't take any new orders. Quote
Ahab Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Thanks Valkyrie312. I just received an email from ToyFreakz to that affect. Ahab- Quote
valkyrie312 Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 No prob, Ahab. I'm still hoping that I can get a Voltron/Dairugger since I didn't preorder one. Quote

They did tell me the toy is "still on track" and will be released in the HK market, so let's keep our fingers crossed that HLJ or any like company gets their hand on some! Quote

Lobizon Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Miracle Productions Vehicle Voltron update! http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/4312/miracle_productions_vehicle_voltron_update Here’s the latest update on the Miracle Productions Vehicle Voltron.Classic Media on behalf of WEP sent cease and desist letters to Toyfreakz and BigBadToyStore, prohibiting them from selling the Vehicle Voltron in the US due to licensing agreements. Miracle Productions has the legitimate rights, granted from WEP, to manufacture and sell the toy in select Asian markets, including, but not limited to Hong Kong and Singapore. These rights do not extend to retail sales outside of those areas. The toy will still be produced. If you have not yet pre-ordered a Vehicle Voltron, please email sales@toyfreakz.com for more information. Quote
