Looks REALLY good, if I didn't already have the SOC Bandai, I would pony up for this guy immediately!  Not enough differences or improvements to replace my SOC though...

Same. I really like that some of the lion legs are hidden when combined, but it's not enough to justify the purchase, looks really good though.

Plan: mail your SOC to me so you can buy the ThreeZero version! :D

Seriously though: while the ThreeZero version looks good, I never liked hiding the legs on the lions. Hips still look too narrow to me, but that's just me.

Somehow I highly, highly doubt Bandai will bother with a Chogokin Netflix Legendary Defender Voltron, if you want a high-end version of that iteration this may be the only way to go.

Honestly, without knowing what accessories come with the kitties, I’d still rather see Bandai make some pipe dreams like the Fleet of Doom combiner or the Sincline combiner from LD.

I too would like to see Bandai take a crack at the Netflix version but I'm doubtful too.  How tall is this supposed to be?  Just wondering how it will look next to the Chogokin.

Damn so Riobot and Blitzway, I imagine the Blitzway will be huge and far more expensive like their OG lion Voltron, pilots and light gimmicks etc., Riobot may be the way to go for me, it's looking good so far, I always loved this design.

I'm not sure why the new blitzway Voltron that's coming that's much smaller in size and does not include at stand why it would cost more then more then the big blitzway Voltron? Seems to me if the new one is same size scale as the ThreeZero one who would anyone buy the new BW one? I've seen some TZ ones sell as low as $180 vs paying $799 for something you would be better off buying the big scale version of? just asking maybe something I'm missing, I do plan on buying the big one myself before the end of year. I want to put it next to my Toynami EX  on steroids version.

Are you talking about the Japanese exclusive release of the blitzway voltron?  If so, its 380mm/14+ inches. Its the same figure as last years release with an exclusive blazing sword accessory.   I cannot find any info on a blitzway release that is the same size as the threezero voltron

also, it does not cost more that the original release.  The figure itself is almost $300 less than the first release.  It can be preordered for a little over 55,000 yen which is about $375.

That's wild I had watched some prior reviews and now can't find them that claimed it was TZ sized and now looking it back up your right!:) I was also under the impression it was without stand and lion weapons. I will likely just buy the original as the lions weapons are important to as a stand as well. I'm still confused about the details so I'm glad you replied .  in a reddit thread they wrote "Only difference that I can see is that it doesn't come with the Lion weapons and stand"  now in this video review comments someone wrote "The Figure & the Stand with option parts are sold separately"

That's a shame but understandable as others have wanted a lower cost version. Thanks for helping clear that up, seems to be alot of confusion on this release.

guess I'll stick with the first edition as retroblasting made a great video that really made a lot of good points on this toy. like others I think the price is kind of inflated and why I've not bought it by now.

If you're a Dairugger XV / Vehicle Voltron fan this weekend's 60% off sale is a pretty good price (comes w/free ship)...

https://tfsource.com/articulated-figures-statues/voltron-vehicle-force-es-gokin-voltron-defender-of-the-universe-action-toys/

I have a lot of DXV/VVs [LINK] and while I'm not into SD much, I particularly enjoy this iterations never before seen transformations (mostly due to being SD) for roughly half the vehicles:

Rugger #1 A.C.E. jet - head

Rugger's #4, #5 recon choppers  - helicopter shoulder

Rugger's #7, #8 aquatic exploration probers - thigh

Rugger's #9, #10 exploration units - lower leg

Rugger #11 radar station - hip

The rest of it is pretty much standard stuff but the approach that Action Toys took to solve some of the connection joints to provide poseability is worth noting by any future attempts imo.

Riobot Voltron.

If if scales with the pair of SOC Voltrons (and it sounds like it might) then I'm in.

Video demo in action ... rather amazing for the price ... the most noticeable difference is replacing all the chrome with matte silver
