Mechamaniac Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 LOL, I had one of those way back in the day... Quote
Ryougabot Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I have one of those, I got for a dollar at a yard sale. It actually Transforms and is somewhat cool. Quote
Sturmvogel Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 That article is hilarious. I still have a couple of "Converters" in a box somewhere at home. I even have a Skull One Convertor, which was a bad guy (like the SDF-1). I'll post some pics once I dig it out... Quote
Qrusader Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I believe the author was going for "sarcasm".... Quote
drifand Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 Imitation is the best form of flattery :-) Quote
nemesis120 Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I believe the author was going for "sarcasm".... I'd be scared if he wasn't. One of these is floating around on Yahoo JP (along with some Toynami RT stuff, some old RT VHS tapes and there was one of those horrid Matchbox "Veritechs"), fortunately nobody's stupid enough to spend 1000 yen on it Quote
tom64ss Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I believe the author was going for "sarcasm".... I'd have to agree. He's laying it on pretty thick too. Quote
Blaine23 Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 Sarcasm? Nah! That is easily the nicest Maladroid I've ever seen... Quote
mcpaz Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 mmmm.... I can't see the point... <_< "gritty functionality of a battleship and futuristic aerospace aesthetics". Yep. Didn't ya see the HUGE aircraft ship? WTH does that kind of ship in space? I think that sarcasm is not the word. Only two chances for me: or the guy at charge of the text wrote it with its ass, or he has under some kind of curse, spell or whatever. (a ship in space?? futuristic?? Sorry guys, such a strange incongruity in my mind is destroing my only neuron left...) Manu Quote
Batou Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 Holy crap! I had one of those as a kid - I was with my mom in Sears or something and begged her to buy it for me. How it wound up there is anyone's guess, but I used to love that thing. Quote
Sebastian Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 The author is definetelly been sarcasitic about this "Maladroid". Quote
UN Spacy Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 But....it's the enemy of the Earth. We must fight or we'll be enslaved by this alien menace. Quote

GobotFool Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 I have one of those, its cool in a cheap kinda way Quote
ewilen Posted September 30, 2003 Posted September 30, 2003 Nice article. Here are some other Converters, including some Maladroid versions of Macross & Orguss mecha: http://www.toyarchive.com/STAForSale/NEW20...Convertors.html Prices are rather high. These do show up on eBay occasionally. Note that Convertors seems to have had to recycle some of their own names! Or else they just randomly put their little toys on the cards simply to confuse people. Quote
