007-vf1 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 (edited) wow that looks awesome!!...is that a US standar ruler? It seems to be about 20 In. long.. So the sucker is actually huge? What scale?? Edited November 29, 2005 by 007-vf1 Quote
Mechleader Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 It's coming form Scale Solutions...don't know the scale BUT that is a standard ruler. Quote
EXO Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 that's nice... hopefully its not a solid chunk of resin. Quote
Kylwell Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Actually that's a 1:4 scale ruler makes it look much bigger... I gotta admit, I'm interested. Quote
fernarias Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Just when you think you've caught up they add more to buy. F. Quote
jardann Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 That looks very interesting. One of my favorite capitol ships actually. It would be great to have a proper version of it as opposed to the old plastic kit. Quote
chrono Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Actually that's a 1:4 scale ruler makes it look much bigger... I gotta admit, I'm interested. 348320 Yeah it's interesting and it's a step-up from the old kit, but it's far too early to tell if it's gonna be worth the money. Quote
MechTech Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 That model looks a THOUSAND times better than the plastic kit. I've got the whole set and and the only thing accuarate on it is the box art! I wonder if they'll do all the classes in the fleet, hmmm... Quote
superdupont Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Not sure it's the right topic but since we're into exotic stuff... Has a Meltrandi gunship model/kit ever been released ? Quote
neptunesurvey Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 When do you get it? Do you email him? His site does not show it up for order. I've been waiting for this the moment since it was mention on Starshipmodeler. Quote
Mechleader Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 (edited) From what I hear it's about 70% done. I'm sure there will be an announcement when it's ready. Edited November 30, 2005 by Mechleader Quote
Mechleader Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 (edited) Update. Here is the latest info.... approximately 19inch long, pressure cast resin, 3 main pieces with locator pins and a tree of smaller parts and a set of decals. Edited November 30, 2005 by Mechleader Quote
jardann Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 OK, this really looks great, but... why would you divide the cast vertically down the entire length instead of horizontally where there is a natural separation? Can you say major seam to fill!? Anyway, still very interesting. I will be awaiting more information. Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 better than the plastic one... but still looks like "poo in space" Quote
Grayson72 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Agree, why would you split it down the center that way. Also anxious to see the final product, I don't think it looks so great right now. More like something someone hand sculpted from playdough. Quote
Kylwell Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Do you really want to have to sand in that gap? Easier to do it all around. Yes, you could manage to split it on one of those ridge thingies but your mold master guy would hit you. Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I was thinking along the same lines as kylwell. I'd hate to have to get putty in the little gap... i'd rather putty and sand the outer surface. Quote
Kylwell Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 better than the plastic one... but still looks like "poo in space" 348629 or a marital aid. Quote
mechaninac Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 (edited) The return of the giant space pickle. Edited December 1, 2005 by mechaninac Quote

Valk009 Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 So, we all now know that the floating space poo is roughly 19 inches long...any ideas on the scale? 1/20000? 1/30000? Quote

Sdf-1 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 (edited) Hmm... This is getting most interesting... 19 inch? That's huge Though it still looks that space poo I wonder how it will look when it's ready. Let's just hope the best. Edit: Where the heck do you find that on the Scale solutions site?!? Edited January 25, 2006 by Sdf-1 Quote
Gundamhead Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 By my math that's 1/8288 at exactly 19". if it's 19.68" it's 1/8000. Or in either case, it's in scale (close enough) with the nice old little SDF-1 kits kicking around looking for something to fight. Quote

chrono Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Not bad at all! But that surface better get ALOT of extra detail. Quote

Lots of masking but it would look so awesome! Quote
Retracting Head Ter Ter Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I want one and will get it if its under 50 bucks (is that being hopeful?). I never messed with resin before. The ISD, the Executor and the Space Spud are my 2 favourite fictional starships. This leaves just the Executor to complete my wishlist. I already have the old Arii kit but the sculptor for that must have been outsourced from north elbonia! I was so excited when I finally got my hands on the kit but after opening it and holding it next to the lineart, I had the same look on my face as when one unwraps his Big Mac and holds it up next to the McDonald's Big Mac poster. Sdf-1 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 (edited) I want one and will get it if its under 50 bucks (is that being hopeful?). I'm afraid not. I would think we might be talking something like $150-$250. Really hard to say, that is also so big one. I've been wondering this myself too. But for 50 bucks, you don't get many resin models. Except some recasts.I already have the old Arii kit but the sculptor for that must have been outsourced from north elbonia! Pretty much like green chocolate bars. I bought all 4 of them recently. But I knew what I was doing, they're still better than no cucumbers at all ^^ Edited February 13, 2006 by Sdf-1 Quote
