JB0 Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 This must be a consipiracy with that Pokemon show a while back.700 kids having seizures. LOL. No wonder of all the recent unreported earthquake activity in Japan. LOL!! Captain: I loved episodes 1- about 23 ish. This is about where the last angel is destroyed. After that they should have just showed the last two episodes with Nerv rejoicing they defeated all the angels, Commander Ikari dies of a drug overdose (I hate his ambition to become god). Ritsuko busy in her cell cage doing some knitting. (why did Ritsuko get jailed again...why did Ikari kill her? I don't get that. Perhaps she wanted to destroy Magi, but Gendo needed it to ...oh whatever. The more I think of it, the more depressed I get =/) Misato and Shinji getting freaky... Rei taking some sociality classes.. Asuka taking some anger management classes... THAT would have been an excellent ending. 348382 " And they all lived happily ever after. Except Gendo. But he was a prick, and no one really cared anyways."
capt.actionjackson Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Turns out the real winner is Rei. I disagree since she had no soul to start with and was just a shell that was meant to hold the LCL or the physical manifiestation of it or whatever..... We should really start a new thread or find one of the (hundreds) of old EVA threads...
Spatula Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Done. See here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...=0entry348421 All EVA talk stops here in this thread and may continue in the link provided. BACK 2 MACROSS!
JB0 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 It's kinda hard to say that when every time you interact with the fans, tehy go "What happens next?!?!?! Huhhuhuhuh???
Noriko Takaya Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 We do not speak about that movie! 348211 Photographic proof they went right into the black hole. And they did come out the other side.
Boxer Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Uher... that's on the event horizon. The Cygnus broke up long before she entered the black hole in one piece thanks to the meteor storm. Depends on if you go by the novel or the movie. The movie; they survive and fly out into supposedly a new universe. In the book they get mashed into subatomic particles. But their minds exist, thanks to Vincent and Kate's psy-link. I thought it was a good movie, and probably the best sucess Disney ever had at a serious movie. (Compared to the....'content' they show nowadays). I also wish I could get my hands on a cygnus model, but they're loong out of production.
haro genki Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Perhaps one day they'll return to Earth and seek the creator. (sorry, couldn't resist )
Noriko Takaya Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 (edited) Uher... that's on the event horizon. The Cygnus broke up long before she entered the black hole in one piece thanks to the meteor storm. 349185 I was trying to be funny using the Cygnus as the Megaroad. Here ya go on the model: http://cgi.ebay.com/MPC-Disney-Black-Hole-...1QQcmdZViewItem Edited December 3, 2005 by Noriko Takaya
Boxer Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 Well, if you squint hard enough, you can see the Cygnus slowly blur into the Megaroad... well, the Megaroad might actually be much larger than the Cygnus, but they still have a lamp-like glass/metal construction And, uh, If I had 50$, I'd rather outfit a WH40K army instead. Besides, the kit is innacurate anyway; it's too short. And I'd have to armwrestle everyone else just to get that kit. Although it just goes to show that the Cygnus was one of the coolest sci-fi ships ever built... even if it was by Disney.
dreamweaver Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 My hope would be Hikaru/Misa did a space fold into that black hole and found the next stage of human evolution. Having them die after all the crap they went through is about at sensible as killing off Hicks and Newt in the beginning of Alien 3. Although anime, in general, does have a less than impressive record of giving a plausible and satisfying conclusion to their series. Its like porn without the money shot. 348469 well, basically their story is a complete and total mystery. did they really get sucked into a blackhole? another dimension? another galaxy? a new plane of existence? or were they captured/destroyed by an alien race? meet up with the original protoculture race or remnants of the supervision army? found a perfect inhabitable world from which they cannot send signals? to sum it all up, a great springboard and limitless source for fanfics. or even better... somewhere along the line, for the 25th, 30th or whatever year anniversary, a source for a new macross story. But here's the most fascinating aspect of their mysterious fate: the story of Hikaru, Misa and Minmei will never ever really end. as opposed to other stories, the story of the three has no 'the end' stamped on it. furstrating, maybe, but absolutely fascinating!
JB0 Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 or even better... somewhere along the line, for the 25th, 30th or whatever year anniversary, a source for a new macross story. Except they were sorta-maybe killed off because Kawamori doesn't want to revisit them. The TV series closed the story rather effectively. Most of Hikaru's plot in the TV series revolved around his romantic interests, misadventures, and screwups. Once you finalize all of that, there's not a lot left to do.

Once you finalize all of that, there's not a lot left to do. 356809 yup, the series did give a sense of closure to the story going on between the three, and that would have been enough. but kawamori didn't want to stop there. he says, "oh by the way, just to make things clear, they (hikaru and misa) eventually get married, misa gets command of a new sdf and hikaru goes along for the ride of course.well, minmei also kinda tags along." and we say, "yeah, we kinda figured that out since it was implied with the ending of the tv series" yup, all's well that ends well...there's still closure... but then kawamori says, "oh by the way, some years later they go missing in the center of the galaxy..." ... What the F*#@??! so, i agree that the main story has ended, but kawamori made it so that he left one final question mark as to the final fate of the three main characters and the whole crew of megaroad. either as a teaser, or, as you said, a final declaration that he will never touch on those characters again.

gerwalk25 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 The Black Hole Movie ROCKED!!!! It needs it's own pinned thread! 348292 And B.O.B. was a lost member of Devo! Mark Mothersbaugh, by accident, tossed him in the trash compactor.
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 (edited) When they go missing, does that necessarily mean they died, though? What happened to Shin in macross Zero? Why be so mysterious? They didn't kill Basara did they? So they might still be floating around out there like what happened to ripley in aliens. Sleeping for 50 years and not aging. Maybe Basara comes across Hikaru and Misa in the Megaroad on one of his adventures with the help of Sivil (sivil actually showed Basara the galaxy when they went on that trip) and Hikaru wakes up just as max is an old man? Basara helps to wake up Hikaru by singing one of his magic songs that wakes things up from sleep and Hikaru gets out of his cryostasis forgetting what happened. All kinds of possibilities can arise when you don't just say "they died" as opposed to "went missing". eg. Anti-UN soldiers hijacked the ship and took control killing all the crew and unleashing a bioweapon (say like a virus) so that if the people ever made contact with the people at home or they got rescued they might risk spread it. Some manage to escape and they end up stranded on an alien planet and living there for the rest of thier lives. Megaroad was abandoned and destroyed but Hikaru and Misa and minmay have settled on the alien planet and get help from the native aliens (with primitive technology) that live on the planet. pfunk Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 you could turn the end into anything you want, thats the whole idea, they couldve died, space fold to explore a diferent galaxy, or just plain shut the radio off and jumped eachothers bones, I think the ending was left up to you, the viewers
Agent ONE Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Considering the Long Distance Colonization fleets were self sustaining, there shouldn't be worry about running out of supplies 348270 So... How do the municipal unilities run in Candy Land? Are they privatized, or state employees?
