You could say it's all HBO for the amount of nudity and sex but honestly it's like that in the books too. I thought oh it's an HBO show that's why it's like this till I read the books and was like oh it's pretty much true to the book in that regards.

True, compared to the books the show has actually cut down on the sex quite a bit. Usually I am something of a prude but in this case I think the TV show strikes a decent balance.

Actually, my ex-girlfriend stopped watching it because she kept complaining about all of the additional sex scenes they crammed between the story elements that were never in the book. She said she didn't want to watch a bunch of useless porn getting in the way of the story (trust me... she was no prude.)

first season was pretty thick with the nudity but its eased off quite alot now.

Season 4 has started off great,gonna be a good season this one.

It's not that I mind seeing some of these ladies naked and writing around... but the lack of big battles kind of pisses me off.

They do just about everything they can to avoid filming one until the end of season 2.

Maybe hire less naked women and they could afford one

They're promising more battles this season, I guess they're starting to get the budget needed. The dragon fx are pretty cool. Some of the best dragons on screen. As for the nudity, I'm all for it. Yup! I said it. It's funny that Cercei never gets naked since she hands it out more than some of the whores in the story. And now I think Emilia Clarke got her no nudity clause in her contract, so much like Aemon, that's the last we're going to see of naked Targarian women.

I would need to find the article again, but I read Martin wanted to possibly finish the series with a movie or even a group of movies. Since Winds of Winter still has no f*#$^@! release date, I'm wondering if that is the thinking for the TV series, the time crunch is going to get too severe and they're going to get to the point that too many actors are too old and they just don't have time to continue and finish a TV series so they have to put all their cards on the table and instead put together several theatrically released films instead. Also, I just looked, in January 2014 Martin's publisher said don't expect Winds of Winter until at least mid 2015...What the F#%@.

It's funny that Cercei never gets naked since she hands it out more than some of the whores in the story.

Lena Headey probably had a no-nudity clause in her contract since the first season, being the only "big name Hollywood" actress in the show.

That said, she might go nude

during that scene where Cercei does that "walk of shame" thing in Book 5.

Well, THAT was epic. What a way to go! Terrifying. The tension built up was amazing. Masterfully staged and edited. This season is firing on all cylinders so far.

I was screaming at the tv, "Don't save that a-hole! Don't save him! I loved how gruesome his death was. Still... I don't see how they could possibly pin it on the uncle. Like he planned to give him that specific cup?

Even saying that whoever is still alive in book 5 means that their enemies probably aren't...

I was reading the books after watching the corresponding season, but it seems they are now offsetting the events in the books to compensate the varying lengths of the books. Last I heard there are seven books planned and seven seasons with the possibility of a movie to finish it off.

I like to discuss GoT, but it's hard to avoid spoilers.

First of all I'm not sour at GU-11. That's why I asked nicely (up top) to mark things that are from the books as "book spoilers" after that. Second, I looked because I thought we were discussing the TV episode at the moment. People are posting which questions the show left in their heads, not because they want the answers. Honestly, it was never my intention to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read the books. I was careful to put everything in spoilers, but unfortunately I didn't expect that people would think the spoiler are only from the latest episode TV series. I mean, the thread did (used to) say A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones until a few hours ago.

I guess it's for the best now that we've got separate threads for the books and TV series.

I was really surprised to come back to the thread a few hours later, have people saying I ruined it for them despite having written everything in spoiler tags. I even made sure to put the "real" spoiler in another spoiler tag.

It was definitely unintentional; I try my best not to spoil anything for anyone. Up until EXO mentioned it, it really never occurred to me that people would expect the spoiler to come from the TV series, and not the book. I just thought spoilers were a universal "read at your own risk" tag.

But I guess it does make sense in retrospect. Frankly, the show's gained so much (well-deserved) popularity that more people watch the TV series than read the books. It's come to a point that we now need to categorize spoilers into books and TV series.

I remember reading an article where Martin says he killed off Ned and Rob precisely because the readers and viewers started to see them as main characters. He also went on to say that he likes to keep things "unpredictable" in the novels. He seems to imply that he does it mainly to keep the audience on their toes, rather than having a plot-related reason for it.

I suspect he killed off Joffrey because everyone was expecting to see him to still be there on the iron throne, shitting his pants when either the Cold Ones or Danaerys's army comes knocking on the gates of King's Landing.

Jon's wounds smoke while Bowen Marsh cries, providing the prophecised salt, and Ser Patrek's bloody, star laden heraldry is in the air above.[5]

When Melisandre looks into her fires for Azor Ahai, she sees only things to do with Jon or snow, which he thinks must just be ash but she sees a possible connection to Jon.[6]

Jon Snow has a dream where he fights the Others with a red sword burning in his hand. [7]

If having the Blood of the Dragon is a prerequisite, if Jon's father is truly Rhaegar, Jon would satisfy that prerequisite. He would be the grandson of Aerys and Rhaella and thus come from their line.

Jon chose his duty to the Night's Watch over his love for Ygritte. He indirectly caused her death by warning Castle Black of the incoming wildling raid. Similar to Azor Ahai sacrificing Nissa Nissa to complete Lightbringer.

Now that you mentioned it, it does make perfect sense. Jon seems to be fulfilling Millisandre's prophecies one by one.
