No BW sticker, but there is a UK Registered Patent Pending No. on the box.

Nice....I do like the look of the grey-ish plastic with the DYRL Hikaru-1S paint job more than the actual white used on the legit release

I think the one used in the commercial is actually grey. You can see the difference when the VF-1S and SDF-1 are side by side in the end of the comercial. The one in hand matches color with the one in the box.

These VF-1S should have had yellow accent colors, but I guess red was more readily available.

The red diamonds on the lower portions of the shoulders are an odd feature. I've never seen that on 1/55 stickers before. All of the GBP stuff printed on the box is fascinating.

Pre HMR grey VF-1S right there.  I had that exact same one on the bottom.  I remember it had paper stickers.

I think this awesome new bootleg that Alex has uncovered was made by the same factory that did this VF-1S Strike knockoff.  Which is also a boot of a  gift set that should include armor, they just didn’t include the armor!  The box opens from the side just in the same way and it’s the same red-shoulders valkyries inside - just white vs grey.

Also, I actually have that SDF-1 that’s in the video along with it and it’s definitely a bootleg.  So now I know who made it as well!

Great work on another awesome box variant discovery!

Are the bottom of the SDF-1 feet blank or have some sort of mark?  Looks like they copied the Matbox version of the SDF-1...or at least the Prometheus and Daedelus.  Can you post more pics of the box?

Yeah, it’s the Bandai mold used for Matchbox.  They just ground the Bandai name and any copyright info off the bottom of the feet on the molding.  You can see and feel the unevenness on that area of the feet where the mold was altered.  Otherwise  it’s actually of similar quality to the original.  Much better than their valk bootleg.  Added pics of the box top, sides, back, and the feet bottoms.

The commercial posted previously denotes a China release, per the language spoken. But it is hard to see in the video if this is the exact same box.

I still have to research the UK Reg PP No. and provide more insight.

Joons had several release years. There might be more production runs than previously thought. Amongst those releases we also had concurrent runs of Space Gan Dam V and Space Fighter.

In the meantime...more EU releases. This time the VF is Valkyrie stamped and the box is TT but Made in Taiwan ROC.

The box on that Hikaru-1S states 1/100.

Are the toys actually 1/100 or 1/55?

The box could be just the usual run-of-the-mill hk counterfeit printing, so verifying the UK Reg-PP could be just futile exercise...

I think the first time I'd ever seen a Joons locally was in its Space Gandam box.  Before I'd seen their usual funky color-schemes, iirc.

Didn't even know the name "Joons" and its rep back then.. .

That should provide you with info on the VF-1S GBP...probably also a Taiwanese bootleg.....

It's funny how Takatoku opened the door to having their 1/55 mass-copied for years to come by allowing it to be made in Taiwan...LOL....or would that have been Matsushiro's decision?

It might have all been done without Takatoku’s or Matsushiro’s approval. Most of the molds auctioned off and ended up in various places of China and Korea.

Only official molds remained in Japan with Matsushiro/Bandai and Macau for MB TF Jetfire.

It’s amazing that there are about 70 or so VF-1 out there from the Takatoku boxes thru blister packed versions.
