Captain of the SDF-1 Macross Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1479333/2...?headlines=true Awww... he's one of my fave 1980s singers. Robert Palmer, who was best known for "Addicted to Love" and "Simply Irrestable" (the music video later became a Pepsi commercial), was now gone. We'll miss you, Robert.
JsARCLIGHT Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Tis the world we live in where the icons of our youth are slowly dying out... too bad the ones we want to die just keep hanging in there like it was a marathon or something. But we must learn something from both Robert and John... go to your doctors, get checkups, try to live healthy and live every day to it's fullest.
Mechwarrior Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 (edited) Damn, He was cool back in da days. Bummer. That reminds me. I'm getting old! Edited September 26, 2003 by Mechwarrior
Vostok 7 Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Man, everyone is dropping like flies. Vostok 7
UN Spacy Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Whoa. That is too young to go for someone singing in the mid (to late) eighties, I don't remember too much about Rober Palmer's music. I'm familiar with a couple of his video's though (i.e. the Sledgehammer video).

Don't you remember the bevvy of short haired, black dressed women in his "band" on "Simply Irresistable"? Edit: Does THIS jog your memory? B) Edited September 26, 2003 by JsARCLIGHT
JsARCLIGHT Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Anybody remember Power Station? "Remember" Power Station? They never went out of my mind! Get it on! Bang the gong, Get it on!
JRock Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 *Listening to Some Like It Hot* I've been a big fan of his music since his Power Station Days. He will be missed. PS: George Plimpton also died last night.
1st Border Red Devil Posted September 26, 2003 Posted September 26, 2003 Sad, sad day. Yes, who could forget Robert Palmer's "backup" for Addicted to Love and Simply Irresistible. Heh, we're all getting older. Too bad....wonder if it was preventable what he had.
